Seriously, where has it gone? I am dying to know:
a) was it a wind-up
and
b)What they got for £65!!!

Its disappeared!!!

Habbibu · 01/12/2008 16:12

I was looking for it earlier too. No-one seems to know.

kif · 01/12/2008 16:12

was very amusing though

purpleduck · 01/12/2008 16:16

When you click on it on "Last Day" threads, it says it can't find it...

sniff!

I seriously need a life!

I was looking for this earlier -I was convinced it was in my Threads I'm Watching bit but wasn't there this morning

bran · 01/12/2008 16:22

Perhaps the SIL threatened to sue MN.

WaynettaSlob · 01/12/2008 16:25

I'm sure I saw it this morning on "Threads I am on" but it's gone now...how bizarre!!!

NorbertDentressangle · 01/12/2008 16:27

bran -in that case, I bet SIL would put her prices up too

singingtree · 01/12/2008 16:28

Oh no! was there really a thread on this subject? I missed it. Last year DH and I offered to contribute to the cost of Christmas lunch (and Christmas eve - we stayed overnight) at my SIL's house and were told it was £400 - without booze, which we brought lots of - think we gave them £150, but I was pretty amazed. I don't doubt that they spent that, they are loaded and quite extravagant, but we could have done it for a darn sight less

purpleduck · 01/12/2008 16:30

£400 singingtree!!!

I don't know how people can ask for money...?

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 01/12/2008 16:31

i wonder if she asked for it to be pulled?
anyone know?

singingtree · 01/12/2008 16:32

Well we offered, which we were very happy to do, it was a biggish gathering and they did all the cooking - but I did think it was rather a lot

madeindevon2 · 01/12/2008 16:32

tbh 400 is easily spent!
ive got sister and brother in law coming for xmas. (24th til 28th) and also more family coming for xmas day evening (another 10 family members) everyone likes a glass of wine or two also)
sister has said she wants to pay half but there is no way im telling her we spent 400 quid....

singingtree · 01/12/2008 16:34

Oh totally, but this was without booze, we bought tons of it as did other bil

UnquietDad · 01/12/2008 16:36

It was £165, wasn't it?

Yes, where's it gone? I want my Cliff Richard pastiches back!!

mm22bys · 01/12/2008 17:01

It was £65 per person per day, just for food, not including accommodation.

The SIL and BIL apparently have a £40K grand piano.

Now I need a life don't I?

purpleduck · 01/12/2008 17:03

yes, UQD, you need to re-post your re-make

ChristmasCakeYerbouti · 01/12/2008 17:05

I read it this morning - Was it a wind up?

I remember this bloke I knew, Keith, made everyone pay a tenner to attend his 60th birthday party. He is LOADED.

There are some v tight folk out there.

I'd pay 65 squids NOT to spend any time with my fahmilee

stickybeaker · 01/12/2008 18:32

I love the fact you've named and shamed Keith. Don't know why but that somehow made it funnier.

squeaver · 01/12/2008 18:35

I was just looking for that too.

DingDongDisasterAreaOnHigh · 01/12/2008 18:36

was in the middle of reading this morning when it went all'thisthread does not exist' or somesuch. am even more that it could have been real and that other people have asked for payment too.

Majeika · 01/12/2008 18:37

oh no! I just sat down to read the latest bit of the thread with a glass of wine and it has gone!!

Am gutted.

MUMSNET - where is it and why has it gone?

StealthPolarBear · 01/12/2008 20:04

StealthPolarBear · 01/12/2008 20:05

onepieceoflollipop · 01/12/2008 20:07

It's gone I participated quite extensively in that thread. I have been at work all day and not it has gone

Look, we could kind of recreate it. (I haven't got time though)
