i know it seems like i am throwing my dummy out of the pram but i am SO cross with him!

he was away monday, tus, wednesday.

got back at 7 on wed-in time to meet me coming out of parents evening with both kids.

we then had to drop kids off with friend and do siansburys and then come home and get them bathed and in bed. we didn't sit down to talk until nerarl 10pm and as i had been in work all day and was full of cold-i was ready for bed.

i asked him to be home in time for a family dinner last night . he said he'd be home for 6 but didn't come home till 7.

he's now just phoned and said he wants to go to the pub with his workmates.

So amibu to be pisssed off that it is just expected that i will deal with fucking everything on my own all fucking week?

If he'll be at home all weekend, YABU.

If he'll be off palaying golf/ working/ having tantric sex with strangers YANBU.

I'm trying not to feel pissed off myself as DH has just told me he'll be off to the pub "to meet with an ex colegue who may have some information" (He always presents it so damn well)

ledodgy · 26/09/2008 18:03

PMSL Lynette that's the adult male eqivilent of going round to a friend's to study.

ledodgy · 26/09/2008 18:03

*eqivalent

clumsymum · 26/09/2008 18:04

Lynette, so they are going to gossip about people they used to work with then ?

themildmannneredjanitor · 26/09/2008 18:06

so lynette-why it is unreasonable if he'll be at home all weekend? seriously i am interested to know why it is ok for him to spend virtually no time at all with his kids during the week.

i know he's been at work. but so have i-and college. ii have fed them, bathed them, done school runs, taken them to the park, done parents evening, read reading books, supervised homework, refereed arguments, dealt with night terrors etc etc

so why is it ok that he is only around at weekends ?

YANBU that doesn't seem fair, he should come home and give you a break.

Can I share why I'm furious with my dp?

I just had a nice glass of orange juice. I'd left my glass on the side. Half way through I realised it was a bit chewy. Peered into it to see strange cheese detritus floating in it - spat it out and shouted 'DP WHY IS THERE CHEESE IN MY ORANGE JUICE?' He said, 'well, I wiped up some stray cheese, and that glass was handy, so I popped it in.'

Stoopid man.

GetOrfMoiLand · 26/09/2008 18:11

YANBU - especially after he was late home last night and away the rest of the week.

Normally Friday evening drinks are OK (my DP goes and has a drink on Fridays, normally back about 7pm, don't mind normally but sometimes I need him to come home, and he plays fair) but your DP should have a bit of thought and come straight home tonight.

But what to do? You can't go and dump the kids in the pub, you will just have to clout him (joke) when he gets in. No point in having it out with him when he gets in half cut, so seethe overnight and sit him down and say it's taking the piss tomorrow, with any luck he will be feeling guilty for leaving you in the lurch all week.

What a crap start to the weekend though.

themildmannneredjanitor · 26/09/2008 18:11

ewwww.

when he phoned and said 'i might go to the pub' i said ''it's up to you but i will be really unhappy if you do go' and pointed out all of the stuff i've said to you guys.

i can't believe he has gone

lol at Boco's cheesy OJ.

themildmannneredjanitor · 26/09/2008 18:13

he's not drinking!!!!! he has the car with him!!! so will only be drinking coke anyway!!!

it seems even a coke with his work colleagues is better than coming home to us.

Get a train tommorrow evening to Liverpool and come and drink wine with me! By the way have you seen Doodle i've emailed her and posted on thread she needs to send Waxy's the deposits asap or we'll lose the booking.

DoubleBluff · 26/09/2008 18:13

HE is completely selfish.
I like the taking the kids to the pub idea.
DOit!

TillyScoutsmum · 26/09/2008 18:14

YANBU - sounds like he's being a bit of a selfish arse

GetOrfMoiLand · 26/09/2008 18:14

My two pennorth - my stupid DP called from the pub earlier and asked if I could move the double bed from the spare room downstairs, as someone is coming to pick it up for his son.

I am here on my own. I can barely lift the bloody mattress to turn it, let alone move it down a flight of stairs. And the bed is a big wooden bedstead that doesn't even fit out the doorway. What the bloody hell does he think I am - superman?

I told him to get stuffed and came on mumsnet

themildmannneredjanitor · 26/09/2008 18:14

he's got the car and it would be 2 buses to get there otherwise i would .
ledodgy i haven't seen her or heard from her.maybe she's run off to rio with the money!

OP posts:
ledodgy · 26/09/2008 18:16

themildmannneredjanitor · 26/09/2008 18:17

and doesn't she have green shoes for walking the dog?

OP posts:
ledodgy · 26/09/2008 18:18

Well we're ok then though if she has run off to Rio I doubt she'd take the shoes, the dog or the coat!
