Have we been infiltrated?

Everyone is mad!

OP posts:
stretchmarkqueen · 01/09/2008 10:33

Which threads in particular? We've always been mad though!!!!

ScottishMummy · 01/09/2008 10:45

madness can be considered a social construct, often used to label and oppress so called deviants, create fear, and disharmony.

maybe we are all mad

in the past illegitimacy, drunkeness and homeosexuality were all cited as reasons of madness and admission to asylum

on a lighter note i love AIBU the dafter the better

stretchmarkqueen · 01/09/2008 10:47

Wow, good post SM

VictorianSqualor · 01/09/2008 10:47

Just read the threads in AIBU on last 15 minutes strecthmarkqueen, it won't be hard to see which ones I mean!

SM
I do love daftos but, some are plain barking.

and holy moly
I think vs is right

somehting is in the water

scottish mummy very good post

TheArmadillo · 01/09/2008 10:50

wasn't aibu created for the crazy people?

3andnomore · 01/09/2008 10:54

lol...

Tutter · 01/09/2008 10:55

indeed

nutters

Gateau · 01/09/2008 10:58

Of course the AIBU thread was created for the crazy people - the people who're fuming about what boils down to not a lot.

ScottishMummy · 01/09/2008 11:00

AIBU is the life blood of MN.the gladitorial arena.come on no one ploughs in there expecting a well measured response

nor should you

i marvel at what people post

AIBU my pants are too tight cutting off circulation

AIBU to hate red buses

AIBU to hate middle class mums

AIBU to hate bugaboo prams

VictorianSqualor · 01/09/2008 11:02

And you must never, ever say YABU.
Because they aren't really asking a question at all.

OP posts:
2shoes · 01/09/2008 11:05

I do hope you are not talking about my thread.
cos if you are that will be another name on the hitmans list

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/09/2008 11:06

It's a rhetorical question, because to post in there you obviously have to think you are not being unreasonable.

ScottishMummy · 01/09/2008 11:08

it aint even rhetorical! hell if you dare say "well actually or yabu teensy weensy bit"

they get the hump

VictorianSqualor · 01/09/2008 11:09

LOL 2shoes, no, yours is fine.

TDWP, that's just it, I rarely post in AIBU, Unless I really think there is a chance that I am being unreasonable.

When I've posted in AIBU it's been to gauge other's opinions, not to expect everyone to agree with me.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 01/09/2008 11:10

what happened before AIBU (I can't remember) did it all get posted in CHAT or is AIBU attracting the less stable element of the internet and we really weren't at all unreasonable before.

VinegarTits · 01/09/2008 11:10

Its looking quite normal for AIBU to me, now you have me worried that i spend to much time on it if it looks normal

TheArmadillo · 01/09/2008 11:13

before AIBU there were all those 'Am I being unreasonable no 56879267629' threads that were cluttering up the rest of the board.

I remember introducing the topic was a bit of a contraversy because some believed it would encourage the crazies.

zippitippitoes · 01/09/2008 11:14

its accepted that if you post there you are being unreasonable isnt it

or just weird

maidamess · 01/09/2008 11:14

There's a few contract killing type threads on there, aren't there?

I think we need a Ranters Corner.

If you are hacked off, bash it all out on the keyboard, it goes to ranters corner, no one can answer and it disappears after 2 hours.

daftpunk · 01/09/2008 11:14

vs, i thought that about a year ago when i first joined, i looked on aibu and thought ..they're all bonkers? made the mistake of saying it...lol

TheArmadillo · 01/09/2008 11:15

I would support a ranters corner.

I think that would be worth reading.

VictorianSqualor · 01/09/2008 11:19

I think there should be a new rule.
All you are allowed to write on AIBU in response is either 'yes, no or lol'

OP posts:
daftpunk · 01/09/2008 11:24

some of them are truly shocking though, i really wonder what go's on in peoples heads?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 01/09/2008 11:31

Oh yes the 'destroy the people' one was very odd.
