No one wants to do your bloody "survey"!

No I don't want to do your post purchase survey.

I can't believe I used to do surveys, answer questions etc - now we get one for every bloody interaction - every delivery involves numerous emails/texts, though they don't contain useful information like the supplier of the item being delivered!

I will not do another survey - 100% over it.

Its simply more digital rubbish cluttering up our lives.

AIBU to keep my "feedback" to myself.

YANBU.

I had the car serviced last week and I must’ve had 3 emails, 2 texts, and a phone call to encourage me to leave feedback. Leave me alone! Having the car serviced is hardly a joyous purchase is it?

GrumpyMuleFan · 05/10/2026 17:50

Totally agree. I hate delivery texts with no supplier, and conversly supplier texts with no delivery firm - they all over communicate but don't really help you. Then they want feedback and the supplier wants feedback.. . Everyone wants a review. I had a massage a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe that at the end of a gorgeous, pampering, deeply relaxing and yes, eye watering-ly expensive hour, she tried to sell me product and ask for a review.

Great AIBU: I'm 100% over it too.

Whyhaveibeencutoutofmamsnot · 05/10/2026 17:51

I will only do it if there is an incentive (prize draw or voucher)

LateNightOne · 05/10/2026 17:54

I just delete or don't respond.

PrettyLittleRose · 05/10/2026 17:55

Oooh, I agree @RobinEllacotStrike They really bug me, because it's not just 5 questions that take 30 seconds to answer. It's 30 to 40 questions, and some have 3 to 5 sub questions attached to each one, and then some say 'why did you give this answer?' and then some say 'please type at least 300 characters,' and 'can you tell us more' lalalalalalala fucking la!

People get PAID to do surveys. Like hell am I spending 30-40 minutes of my time answering 85 questions! I have stopped doing them now.

LauderSyme · 05/10/2026 18:06

YANBU. I admit to being a people pleaser, but must be in recovery as I no longer bother with these.

In the last two months I've been asked by Talktalk, Fuse Energy, Wayfair, Jack & Jones, DPD, Evri, Specsavers, Boots, Juniper, an online t-shirt retailer, et al, to complete their survey.

I did Juniper's cos there was a £250 voucher up for grabs (which I won't win cos I never do). I feel bad for the other employees whom I didn't review because some of them told me that my potential Trustpilot score literally affects their annual performance review.

But goodness me, life is too short and it's all capitalist bullshit anyway.

KindlySurfiingPlatypus · 05/10/2026 18:08

Totally agree.

The thing I found most upsetting was during cancer and aftermath I was having a plethora of different appointments with GP and nursing team and physio and all sorts of different specialists so that sometimes I had 4 or 5 different appointments in a week and I was positively bombarded with texts from the NHS wanting to know how satisfied I was with my recent appointment with no indication of which recent appointment and no I'm not bloody satisfied because I am still feeling awful. There was no way to opt out.

JMSA · 05/10/2026 18:09

It’s very ‘Black Mirror’, isn’t it?
Anyway, YANBU.

yes they don't ask once - its full on pestering.
Even they "easy ones" - click a smiley face. Then "why did you click the smiley face"? FFSFO!!

Never again.

I also seem to be continutally "unsubscribing" from emails yet still they come.

Also (as I'm on one) every purchase now seems to involve multiple emails
We have your order.
We are thinking about your order.
We'll send your order soon.
Your order has been sent.
<Delivery people then pop up with 5 emails of their own though god forbid you order more than one thing online as you never know wheich item the delivery emails are about>
Your order has been delivered.

I don't mind emails with useful information but the others can FO.

Then "how did we do"????

Yes had a "How did we do" today from Privilege for the house insurance.

I'd let them know my husband has died.

OMG sorry you went / are going through that. Its harrassment! Its the last thing you need when you are going through such a stressful time.

I forgot about the NHS ones but you are 100% correct.

From my recent experience - "Please review by snippy text message the phone call you waited over a year for that the HRT specialist rushed you through and then wrote a letter to your GP with lots of made up stuff in it that is nothing to do with you?"

I brought a new car in the summer, I had six emails with surverys, a letter in the post with a survey and the area manager rang me to do a survey.

The car was still at the port, didn't pick it up for an additional six weeks. 🤣 YANBU

thats it - they make us feel its about us, but theit enslaught of communication is usually not even useful to us, the customers.

We are all living Clubcards with bank accounts to these companies.

I can't beleive I actaully used to do these - even now I dont do them but sometimes I will find myself doing so on autopilot & have to interject.

We get surveys every year from a club we joined, re the restaurant there.
Every year we say the service needs improving (the staff are not well trained) and the menu updated.
Nothing changes 😀

HorseandHeron · 05/10/2026 18:23

I went to the theatre the other day. I have so far been asked to fill in
a survey about the venue
a survey about the booking agent
a survey about the show
a survey about the arts generally

I can't block them as I'll use that booking agent and venue again. But they clog up your email

GhostEed · 05/10/2026 18:24

Yes it really pisses me off being hounded all the time. Even when you place an order these days you’re bombarded with emails notifying you of every step. It amazes me how quickly I can rack up 100+ emails and it’s 99% crap

Yes my kids (teens) don't use email if they can avoid it - they just see it all as junk mail holder rather than anyting useful & who can blame them.

It can become difficult to pick out the emails you want to read from all the junk.

DD1 just started at uni & is quite horrified she is expected to use a uni email account and its IMPORTANT to do so.

Email destroyed actual post, and surveys / purchase emails are ruining email. What next?

I have had a letter and 3 calls from someone on behalf of HMRC about a survey for how sole traders are preparing for making tax digital. Two reasons I refuse to do it

  1. I'm a sole trader. I charge for my time. I'm not filling out a lengthy survey for free.
  2. Do you actually think I'm going to answer questions from 'HMRC' via a cold call? This is exactly the sort of thing we are always warned against as potential fraud!

Idiots.

Gettingbysomehow · 05/10/2026 18:37

I never do them. When you do get a reply its from AI.

RobinEllacotStrike · 05/10/2026 18:38

Ooh I forgot the "did you forget something" emails.
Like you look at a website and now they email you about it.

We all have to suffer 2 factor id / autheintication nonsense and yet they can do this?

I actually do tend to complete surveys but they are often so badly put together... asking numerous questions about how likely you are to recommend the service etc but very little option to say exactly what your experience was and how they can improve. I think there must be marketing people who have targets for responses but they are not actually interested in what you say
