No one wants to do your bloody "survey"!

No I don't want to do your post purchase survey.

I can't believe I used to do surveys, answer questions etc - now we get one for every bloody interaction - every delivery involves numerous emails/texts, though they don't contain useful information like the supplier of the item being delivered!

I will not do another survey - 100% over it.

Its simply more digital rubbish cluttering up our lives.

AIBU to keep my "feedback" to myself.

I love doing surveys, so I always do! I work in a related field so I sometimes take screenshots of particularly good or bad questions.
I never leave reviews though, apart from on Etsy or Vinted, i.e. if it helps a person or small business rather than a big company.

YANBU.

I had the car serviced last week and I must’ve had 3 emails, 2 texts, and a phone call to encourage me to leave feedback. Leave me alone! Having the car serviced is hardly a joyous purchase is it?

Oh yes, had my car MOT'd and serviced last week, and have had at least five calls chasing me for a survey.

How much of my bloody time do you want? I already lost two half mornings and £500, I don't owe you any free labour.

They'd better hope they don't catch me, given they tried to stripe me up for a £900 cam belt replacement they already did two years ago. That was a quick backtrack on the mechanic's video, where they apparently saw wear and tear and I had to point out that given my low mileage that would call into question the quality of their earlier work.... Turns out they were 'mistaken'.

I do the surveys if I’ve had really good service. Otherwise I ignore them.

By the time you wrote this you could have set up an autodelete for any emails containing the word “survey” or “feedback”. It’s not worth getting upset about.

Onefairfish · 05/10/2026 19:16

I enjoy the ones from the supermarket asking me to review, eg, courgettes or bananas. I always submit a review saying ‘it was a courgette’.

Then you do do their phone survey. You tell them you feel ripped off and disrespected and you won't be using them again and you'll be leaving a poor review to explain exactly why not, to the world.

GrandHighPoohbah · 05/10/2026 19:30

I don't do any kind of post-interaction communication unless I need to return something. No reviews, surveys, feedback. It's draining to drag out every single purchase or service over so many emails.

Sunbringer · 05/10/2026 19:49

It’s all about gathering data which they can use. To make more money

yes they don't ask once - its full on pestering.
Even they "easy ones" - click a smiley face. Then "why did you click the smiley face"? FFSFO!!

Never again.

I also seem to be continutally "unsubscribing" from emails yet still they come.

Also (as I'm on one) every purchase now seems to involve multiple emails
We have your order.
We are thinking about your order.
We'll send your order soon.
Your order has been sent.
<Delivery people then pop up with 5 emails of their own though god forbid you order more than one thing online as you never know wheich item the delivery emails are about>
Your order has been delivered.

I don't mind emails with useful information but the others can FO.

Then "how did we do"????
🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

This made me LOL, especially about the delivery companies emails...

I order one item on Monday, and get the following emails over 2-4 days...

A package for you is on the way to us.
Your package is now with our main depot in Manchester.
Your package is now on its way to your local depot in Stafford.
We have your package at our Stafford depo.
We are about to send your package from our Stafford depot to the courier facility.
Your package is on the way to the courier facility.
Your package is at the courier facility.
Your package is ready to be despatched.
Your package is with the courier.
Your package is out for delivery.
Your package has been delivered.

And as you say, if you have ordered 5 or 6 items in just a day or two, (as I do when I have a family birthday coming up (or a friend's birthday,) or if it's Christmas, you can get 40 to 50 emails in 5 to 7 days, and you don't know which email is for what package!
