AIBU to say no one can define female gender clearly

AIBU to think that no body has ever been able to explain what female gender is.
I recently heard a guy say, 'if a guy throws a ball badly (he did an impression of a 2 year throwing a ball), then that's female gender.'

If sex and gender are different things, then what is female gender.

Please only respond with a definition of female gender that does not rely on regressive stereotypes.

Gender is a made up construct. There’s the Male and Female sexes, and you can behave as you please within that, it’s nothing to do with “gender”.

I mean, if that's the level of debate, it's not worth having. Biological sex is clear. Dictionaries have definitions of words. Females are individuals and needn't conform to any definition of their gender.

I agree. We are different but it’s impossible to define what it feels like to be a woman. I am a biological woman and also feminine in gender but that all relates to stereotypes. The stereotypes obviously come from the fact that most women in recent times for example, wear dresses, have long hair etc but is it all just socialisation? Women are more caring - are we or are we just socialised that way because we have a vagina? I imagine that we (commonly) are more biologically inclined to care for babies due to being the ones to birth them.

Gender, by definition, relies on stereotypes or "norms" if you prefer. I agree with you and will go on to suggest that people voting YABU confuse gender and sex.

Why is it important to you?

One might say, because they're female. But I'm outta here now because this isn't going to go anywhere good. No one is this naive so feels like baiting.

No one who is a proponent of gender over sex (might be called an ally or an a trans rights supporter) has been able to articulate what gender actually is.

We know that no modifications to their bodies are required (this is good as although superficial modifications are simple, such as hair length, cosmetic use, garment choice, surgical modifications are of themselves inherently risky)

I think people do confuse them because people are fighting for gender based rights into already established sex based rights. There’s obviously conflict there.

Femininity in itself is defined as stereotypical norm of a biological female. Which would be vastly different in different cultures. Your YABU vote doesn't make any sense because you are still explaining gender in terms of stereotypes which is opposite to what OP asked for.

Because where things have been legally separated by sex, it is normally to protect each sex. When those laws include the opposite sex to include gender they become not fit for purpose. There are not many things in life that are segregated by sex, but when they are it is for the protection and/or fairness of each sex. Therefore muddling gender as sex infringes on sex based rights and fairness.

That's the whole point that women have been making about gender. It is made up stereotypes, that's the whole point - is socially constructed to keep women oppressed and that's what feminists have been fighting against. Sex is biology and gender is the social construct of a woman who is nurturing, feminine etc.

My point is that if traits such as nurturing and caring are ‘female’ traits then how can a trans man still be trans if they are pregnant.

Gender is just stereotypes, which are a nonsense.
We need sex based protections.

Sex is decided at conception. It’s part of our DNA and chromosomes. It’s not up for discussion despite what some would say.

Gender is a social construct. Women bake and Men fix cars bullshit. Tries to pigeon hole what the sexes should or shouldn’t do but thankfully we’ve come on a long way in recent years and a woman can be a fire fighter and a man can be a florist.
