Since Tim's passing last week, I had a mind to re-watch Rocky Horror Picture Show

And dear god, that man does something to me. 😜

Im not into Tim Curry in anything else, Im not into men cross dressing/transvestitism. Neither are a "thing" for me. But what.is.it.about.Tim.Curry.in.Rocky.Horror? Seriously. He makes me shiver with antici...pation! 😂😂

Please tell me there's at least someone out there in mumsnet world that agrees so I dont feel so alone...
Or tell me im weird...I dunno.

Well, he does nothing for me in that department but my gosh, he was so magnetic and charismatic in RHPS. I must have watched Sweet Transvestite about 200 times in the past week. It's a stunning performance. Someone described him as sneering out of all four corners of his mouth at once - such a good description!

He was always Rooster in Annie for me, and he was properly hot in that! 😁

I feel just the same! I do not know what is it but he is so so sexy in TRHS. The feet tapping in the heels, the lipstick, his muscles?! I cant stand drag but he is incredible 😍

He’s SO sexy in RHPS! I think it’s because he’s so masculine and confident. It’s not normally my thing at all, and I can’t bear drag artists, which always feels like a really mean-spirited parody of femininity to me. But TC is clearly not even trying to be feminine! And he’s clearly so charismatic and confident in his sexuality. I think that’s what makes us all feel so gooey about it! 😂

I think that’s exactly it. He’s a masculine man, who just happens to be wearing clothes and make up that society gender stereotypes as female, but that he makes totally his. He’s not mimicking ‘femininity’ or parodying ‘being a woman’.

I LOVED all of it as a teenager and young adult.

Unfortunately, on re-watching, it's ruined for me by the "sex" scenes with Brad and Janet. They're really rape-y. Sex by deception + rape. Horrid.

Edited to add: clearly, mostly script and direction to blame here, rather than Tim Curry. But it ruins the sexiness, that that's how he gets his way.

I haven't seen it for many years but I suspect it hasn't aged brilliantly in some ways. The bit where Brad and Janet are stripped down to their underwear is horrible too
