Why can't I just find some pants?!?!

After a long, painstaking and expensive search I have finally found some knickers I was happy with. The right type of fabric for my preference, the right style and they fit! don't squish me in on the waist band, don't have my little belly fat sticking out at the bottom. Don't give me a wedgy. And only £22 for a pack of four (Victoria's Secret from Next).

Alas, my joy was short lived. After one day, I am back to the never ending drawing board of finding pants I can wear. All the above reasons stand, they're perfect on paper - BUT - feminine items will not stick to them! Not even a bit. It's so weird. I like to wear a daily pad, just to feel hygienic through the day in case of small leaks (thanks kids), but they will not stick to my new pants at all. OK, I thought, I'll just hold the pad in place in while I pull them up and then they'll just stay there. WRONG. Not only did they not stay there, the otherwise super comfy pants somehow turned the back half of my pad into some sort of bum floss which I was then constantly trying to unwedge. And when I went to the toilet and lowered them, the pad was nowhere to be seen. Oh wait, there it is dropped out onto the floor (thankfully not in the toilet bowl!).

There's absolutely no way I'm chancing that with with a sanitary towel when I get my period.

(btw, I did think maybe after a wash they'd stick better. Made no difference)

So that's another £22 down the toilet (pun intended) and I have to consider the perfect pants just don't exist.

Is it just me that finds buying basic every day pants so bloody hard!

This isn't knicker-related but please consider seeing a pelvic physiotherapist. You'll have to pay privately but it will be life-changing. I guarantee it will be possible to improve the leaks and quite possibly to stop them altogether, and there will be other health benefits for your functional strength and fitness, especially as you are a runner. It makes me furious that we as a country expect women to wear daily pads and live with mild incontinence after childbirth when virtually all pelvic health issues are fairly easily treatable.

I now buy these knickers, having given up on all other brands. They are incredibly comfortable and last a long time. I suppose they come under the big pants category, but actually look quite sporty on.

I was able to see a pelvic health nurse (not sure of exact title) via the NHS. Saw the nurse at my GP surgery who referred me pretty quickly.

That’s excellent. Unfortunately in many areas the NHS services will only see more advanced cases, such as severe prolapse or complex birth injury rehab.

These are dead comfy but bloody awful quality, the elastic frays badly after just a few washes.

Tchibo in Germany is the only place I buy pants now. They are the only ones which are as good as M&S used to be. I think you can buy their products through amazon if you're in the UK. Their website only ships to mainland Europe.

I brought Asda cotton pants during COVID when all the lingerie shops were shut- and they are brilliant!

I found Innersy are great but those sticky gussets keep coming off. Massive design fault.

I like Stripe and Stare. Very very comfy but only pant liners that stick are Tena Light. Otherwise they start moving around and end up down your leg…

These are the only knickers I wear. So comfy.

Marks and Spencers flexfit pants are lovely! They do them in a variety of styles, I love the full brief ones. Shiny fabric but pads stick to the inside, here's a link to the full brief but they also do short style ones and high leg I think.

Like you I am on the search for knickers that don’t roll down and have ordered some from Oddballs on a friends recommendation. I used to work as a lingerie stylist and was trained by Van de velda, our knickers were mega expensive and all mine are coming to the end of their life, not bad after 10 years of constant wear though. I am a size 10 but always opt for a L or size 14 because I don’t want to feel them digging in at all. I’d always suggest going for at least one size up ☺️

These work. Plain black bikinis, microfibre (so shiny) but cotton gussets so things stick to it. And half the price of your fancy VS ones!
