Slavery in classical antiquity, the dark ages and the early medieval period wasn't race based, though. You lost a war, you're a corpse or a slave - tough luck.

I am not losing anything as my family were from a former colony in Ireland. I'd love to be a victim and get a job in Cambridge just on the basis of being a victim.

Ex-academic here and the main thing I think is that there are so, so many white professors with completely fakes personas and lives, and stolen, spurious work with made up facts who are not being investigated but should be. Boy are they keeping quiet now though.
