To be amazed this family were allowed on the flight (Ryanair)

We were flying with Ryanair last week to go on holiday.

Before boarding the plane, we heard them calling cleaners to our boarding gate. As we got closer, there was a young boy who had been sick all over the floor. He clearly had a fever and wasn't well at all.

We boarded the plane, and you guessed it, the family were sat really near us. Before the plane even took off, he was sick 2 more times.

During the flight, he was sick every hour. The Mum said 'it is such a shame he has a bug at the start of our holiday'.

I am just amazed that he was allowed to fly when visibly unwell with a sickness bug.

I am absolutely amazed we didn't catch it but I bet other people did. I thought it was SO unfair that he was allowed to fly, potentially infecting so many people on that plane and ruining holidays people have looked forward to all year. I know kids aren't allowed to fly with chickenpox, so why can they with a sickness bug?

We caught a bug from a woman two rows in front of us flying out to Spain last year. My DD was still being sick the day we flew home, I called our travel insurance and they said to not let staff see her be sick before the flight as we wouldn't be allowed on. I took her to the pharmacy to get anti sickness medication. She's only 4 so it was not easy, but she wasn't sick on the flight and we made it home thank god. I would never travel out to a holiday with a vomiting child!!!

I would have rebooked the flights 100%

That is fucking disgusting and I can't believe people would fly with a vomiting child. Incredibly selfish and also just fully miserable for the child!

There may be multiple reasons for vomiting, but an actively vomiting passenger should not be allowed on a flight regardless of the cause. If a medical emergency happens mid-flight it causes problems for the entire flight. If you’re vomiting you should be grounded until you stop.

It's a disability. No difference to hearing and smelling someone who is incontinent of feaces due to a disability.
