How is there anyone on this earth looking up to this specimen?

I hasn’t really heard of him until about a year ago but my gosh. I’ve seen a few interviews with him and he can’t even speak properly, he just shouts constantly. He says that men who have sex without the intention of impregnating the woman are gay.

I know he can’t help with way he looks but he’s ugly with a bald head and no chin and have you seen his arrest pictures with that ridiculous outfit with the purple shirt and the women’s shoes?

Except that he's a man who has been accused of quite terrible things. I know that's all alleged now. But it feels like saying "don't talk about Epstein and Prince Andrew because you are giving publicity to the awful men" "don't talk about grooming gangs because you are just giving the awful men who do those awful things attention"

I bring the grooming gangs and Epstein up deliberately because what they actually did, and what Tate is alleged to have done (and what he boasted about doing/offered courses in) are pretty much the same thing. It's just that the reaction to it by some men (eg Farage, SYL) has been quite different. It's depressing because you would think, after the awful details of grooming gangs were made public people wouldn't have the attitude that "girls know what they are getting into" or that it's somehow funny/cool to befriend vulnerable teenagers and manipulate them into aex work and (allegedly but Tate described doing this on his podcast) locking them up, not allowing them to access their money so they can't go, hurting them so they continue to work for you. But no....

Also, I do think he was massively signal boosted and it wasn't all that organic. I don't mean so much by people getting upset at his videos etc and arguig against them/writing articles/posting about him like on here. I think that helped. But I really don't think his rise to the public zeitgeist just happened. At the very least he had help learning how to use algorithms to his advantage. That's my conspiracy theory.

Not too sure myself. I was a student on placement at a school he was at as a kid. He was a miserable little sod then too. Always had a face on him. I’m sure it’s to do with his upbringing. Don’t remember his mum or dad.

My son as a young teenager told me that Andrew Tate had a lot of positive things to say. And as per a previous poster there is some truth in that - on the surface he had a work hard and achieve message, he had this aspirational lifestyle, self made man, nice cars, he also appealed to young men as he fed them a victim narrative- the world is against men etc. but scratch the surface and he was saying some really vile things. It’s interesting to see clips from his paid for courses surfacing now where he is talking about how to charm women then coerce them into working on webcams to make your money for you and how he moved to Romania because they don’t act on rape allegations so he feels free. My son worked it out at some point, he didn’t even realise he had been arrested and laughed his head off at the outfit, hasn’t paid any attention to him in a long time.

I watched a YouTube video of him around this time. He told the story of how his dad abandoned his mum and she gave her everything to bring him up. He didn’t seem to have a lot of respect for her. Massive daddy issues. I wonder what his mum thinks of him.

Unfortunately I’m sure he still has followers out there who will believe he has been framed and it’s all a conspiracy etc. I don’t understand how people can’t see how nasty he is.

It's always a mix of vague positive affirmations, practical but common sense advice and the completely batshit and harmful. There's nothing innovative about his formula.

I never understood it. If lost, 'emasculated' boys were seeking an impressive role model who could teach them how 'be a man', to be attractive, get a girlfriend etc, you wouldn't think they'd look to some scrawny rat-faced incel who admits the only way he can get girls is to promise them money. And even after being offered millions they still think it isn't worth it, so he has to physically force them to not dump him and run away, shuddering. Weird sort of idol. And terrifying that apparently there are boys who have been so utterly conditioned to believe they don't want/can't obtain a healthy relationship that think this seems like an entirely reasonable plan B.

Lots of teens and young men looking up to him, sadly. Because they think he has lots of money and gets lots of women. Because the more free and powerful and independent girls become, the more misogynistic some boys get, especially the ones who are low-achieving or have poor social skills. It's a big problem.
