To think that the number of train cancellations is totally unacceptable.

Just that, really. Every time any member of my family has taken a train in the last few weeks, at least one of the trains that they're supposed to be travelling on has been cancelled.

What is the point of having a train schedule at all if they never stick to it?

It simply isn't good enough.

DD's train is delayed every single day. She can't get the one before because that comes under "peak" and is double the cost, and the one after her train doesn't get her to uni in time.

There have been at least 2 occasions when the train has been cancelled altogether after being delayed in the morning. She got stuck at Temple Meads late one night last week because the app told her the train was platform 15 but it came in on platform 8 instead. From her perspective it just disappeared. It's frequently easier to just drive and get her.

She's switched to the bus which takes 3 times as long but at least turns up.
