Not to mention the colossal financial and environmental disaster of HS2 which he personally signed off on, or the PPE cockups, he has now said the risk to MPs safety “remains low”.
this is after 3/650 MPs have been murdered at work in the last ten years - roughly 0.05%.
A comparable percentage of say lawyers or departmental civil servants as related professions would equate to 2250 civil servant murders and 1500 lawyer murders in the last ten years.
The actual number of murders at work for these roles in the last ten years is ZERO.
MPs, particularly female ones, are increasingly at risk and lying to the public about it is only going to make it worse. Although I appreciate for someone like Boris Johnson it’s a hard habit to break.

To be fair, Boris Johnson did not attend that party and probably didn't know it was happening. Sue Gray's report confirmed Johnson was 'not in residence' in Number 10 at the time.

I know nothing about the French suppliers, but a close friend of mine was producing PPE and theatre supplies for the NHS since the early 90s. Try as she might, the trusts she had supplied for decades were unable to place any orders as per instruction from the department of health and the cabinet office. She had contacted everyone she could think of and all had told her that alternative arrangements were being made. She switched her supply to alternative countries, but she was furious as her two sons, both doctors in the UK, were telling her how desperate the situation was. She was invited to take part in a panorama programme but she was afraid of reprisals and withdrew. I wrote to the DOH and the cabinet office on her behalf and got no reply. The day after I spoke to her a plane load of unusable PPE arrived from Türkiye.

Which rules? 'Currygate' was barely two weeks after Prince Philip’s funeral.

It's quite telling that no one who has worked with him previously in his journalistic career has a single good word to say about him. People will vote for a pig wearing a blue rosette if they think it will save them paying 10p more tax a year.

I very much doubt that.

Also, for the size of the country I don't think bullet trains should be a priority. It wouldn't save that much time because cities are too close to each other. By the time you've accelerated to full speed, it's time to start slowing down somyounsave a bit of time for a lot of cost/disruption (the higher the speed of the train, the straighter the Trainline has to be). Very big countries like China, Russia and America would benefit the most as their cities are so far apart. The only one to have built massive amounts of HSR of those is China and their railways are extremely unprofitable (which they are fine with because it's not meant to make money)
Japan has been stalled for years with it's Maglev which is the next thing after HSR. It's not just us who struggle with big infrastructure.

(we need more train infrastructure. I just don't think HSR for the sake of HSR should be the priority)
