I have suffered the last three days in the South East. It is 30 degrees where I am today. I'm suffering! And its been in the high twenties all week. I haven't slept with fans on.

However looking at the weather forecast, its dropping to a lovely 21 degrees next week. Is that the end of it?

You know it’s only mid-July, right? Plenty of time for another heatwave…

Here in Manchester it's supposed to drop to 19° on Saturday and then next week will fluctuate between 20° and 23°.

@mindymoo11 I completely understand if you don't want to say where you are. But no one can tell you unless they're looking at the same postcode and looking at decent weather forecasts. The best one I found is a local amateur broadcaster who predicted the horrible June one about a month in advance - thanks to that person, I was away for it. (I live in a boiling new build which won't go down below 25 until October or November, no that's not a joke, it might take longer this year though, that's a normal summer).

The official forecasts are all shit. If i check what the highest temperature was at the end of the day, it was completely different than what was forecast. my local amateur person has got it right.

Where I am, they are consistently under reporting the temperatures

So they claim it will go down to 25 at the weekend. I can confidently say it won't. Then it's forecast to go up again from Wednesday

There is no end in sight.

I was up north a couple of weeks ago and it was so nice. About 25 and lots of air! Just nice summer days - I think it got hot up there after I came home though.

I imagine it is statistically more likely to be hot in August than it is in July? So I doubt it's over.

I was very excited by a little bit of cloud for a few minutes on TWO separate occasions this afternoon! First in ages. Soon passed though 😆

It said today and yesterday were forcast to be 22 but ended up 28

Can you tell me roughly where that is, please?

I nearly went to Norfolk last weekend, but I was right in my analysis that it wouldn't cool down much over there. My neighbour has a campervan and she drove over there. She said it was a couple of degrees cooler than here but it wouldn't have been worth the train fare and a hotel. Tbh I don't really know how she manages with the camper van - don't they get really hot? I think she actually does sleep outside on these trips, but she doesn't want to say so for some reason. She was raised in Ireland, on the coast, and she's really struggling. Came here for work and I think is rather regretting it.

This is the first day the weather has got right on my wick. I have had enough. I was wah in a stuffy room and my laptop has gone rogue, hot and glitchy. I feel hot and glitchy as well. I am over it. Bring on some cooler temperatures

No pleasure here to note that I've read it will heat up again to 30*c in SE England by the end of next week (🤦). I hope not!

will you stay in your air conditioned rooms for fear of the heat?
plenty of people pay for two weeks away with these temps.
Im in Spain as I am every June/July/August, the most the locals say ‘isn’t it hot ‘ and get on with shopping, work and life.
I just don’t get the complaints.
Understandable if you have underlying health conditions, as do I.

Cooler day in sw France, high of 29oc. And we just had a storm with heavy rain so for the first time in a while I won’t be watering at 7am tomorrow.

It's not the weather that's the problem, it's the buildings that are the problem. Buildings in Spain are designed for heat.

I was actually in Spain last week. I enjoyed the weather as my holiday flat had really good air conditioning.

Now I'm back in England. My third floor flat has no air conditioning, the windows are small. I have a fan on and its just really circulating hot air. Its 30 degrees here today. I feel unwell from the heat when I'm inside
