Kier and Kemi showed the best of British politics today

I do miss the days that every political interaction was like that. We’ve become so nasty in politics these days, it’s nice to see some mutual respect again.

That's fair enough.
It's nice to see someone have something positive to say about the change rather than just hoping it will trigger an election.

I disagree with Starmer's politics and I think he has failed as a PM in many ways, but I don't think he deserved to be stabbed in the back . I also think fundamentally that both he and Kemi are decent, intelligent human beings who want the best for the UK, but differ on how to achieve that. Yesterday's PMQ's showed that. I thought Kemi was respectful and amusing.

I'm watching yesterday's session for the first time. It was nice to see the joviality in the house, along with Starmer's accolades to his constituents. Badenoch did well in gently pushing her questions about Burnham. It was a 'leaving party' full of grace. He wasn't PM material but he gave it his best shot. I wish him well in the foreign arena.

It was nice to end on a warm note and I agree Kemi's was a good performance. I think you might be looking to the past through rise tinted glasses if you think PMQs was polite pre-brexit though!

Why can't AI run the country? Ask a random, sample of citizens what they want. Generate a manifesto to maximise the fulfilment of the citizens wants. Then a plan to deliver the manifesto. Then get on with it.

I think a lot of people believe this.

I live in Canada. Years ago, when Stephen Harper was PM here, he had a sort of right-hand man who was known as his "attack-dog." He was always giving the bad news, making angry speeches in Parliament, was sort of a big angry looking guy like a bouncer.

He consistently won the vote among civil servants working in Parliament as the nicest MP. People were always surprised by that.

Similarly there are some very famous cross -arty friendships in the UK people are often surprised by.

Politically tribal citizens are often much less likely to talk to people of other persuasions than actual politicians.
