What time is reasonable for children to be playing loudly in the garden at the weekend

Ok, loaded question at the top. We have very loud neighbours with young children (2,4,7) who seem to shout and scream in the garden from (what I consider) quite early.

We have young children also but are constantly woken by garden noise.

So, what is a reasonable time in the summer to chuck your kids out into the garden to play?

Can’t believe people are so inconsiderate! We live in a little village surrounded by very elderly people, so nobody else makes a sound - so any sound we make (with a 4yo and 7mo) is very noticeable! My 4yo isn’t particularly loud generally so I don’t mind on the odd occasion he does have a noisy ten minute, but I wouldn’t allow consistent literal screaming/shouting. Sorry you’ve got such horrid neighbours.

@WaltzingWaters@LilyBunch25 it's not just little people though. You see it on here all the time. First hot day, people want to put their laundry out...someone is having a BBQ or a local farmer starts burning things, or doing garden DIY for the WHOLE day (lawn mower, pressure washer that sort of deal). Or with the heat lately many of my neighbours have been walking their dogs or letting their dogs out earlier so there's barking and doors slamming or cars moving around at around 5.30am. I'm awake anyway so genuinely not bothered, but can imagine not everyone is the same.

Not justifying the screaming at all, sounds horrendous. But in general it does feel like people could be both a little more considerate of their neighbours with their noisy activities, and also a little more understanding of one another. Though perhaps the majority are, guess forums are designed to offload. Cathartic whinge and all that!

Thanks- there are retired people behind them too, suffering the same racket; they are literally the only inconsiderate lot here. Thank goodness not everyone is like them....

No earlier than 9, people work hard all week long and deserve a lie in on days off. Anyone who thinks it’s acceptable to let kids make a racket outside before 9am are arseholes imo! I have 2 kids, late teens now but I was always mindful of how their behaviour impacted others.

I said 9 am, but I would also add that it's totally unacceptable to leave your children screaming and shouting all day. It's just shit parenting and no one wants to listen to it.

I actually agree with a couple of posters, if the sun is up and the binmen are out then its fair game for the garden. Maybe annoying if its 6.30 and holding off until 7.30/8 would be kinder.
