So the other day when my partner was leaving his son home. As he usually does (Near a coastal area) he told me he left his son home then went a drive round the coastal area by himself because it was sunny and he was listening to music. He told me this as soon as he got to my house. He told me he originally asked his son did he want to go a drive round the coastal area but he’s 13 so he just likes gaming so went on home. So he told me it was sunny and he was listening to good music so he just went a drive around it. Is this normal? He messaged me around 6pm saying see you soon then came to my house around 6.50 and said oh I just went a drive by myself (he is really big into music) I accused him and asked was he away meeting a girl 🤣 does anybody else do this when it’s sunny

JoaNiic · 01/07/2026 13:39

Seriously? Lots of people like going for a drive, it’s not a weird thing.

grumpygrape · 01/07/2026 13:42

What did you expect him to have done?

WaltzingWaters · 01/07/2026 13:43

Yes, a very normal thing to do. Can’t say I’d do it myself - I mean I’d drive somewhere and then stop and sit on a beach listening to music rather than the drive being the main objective. But for anyone who loves driving and loves music - a very normal thing.

lostifimhonest · 01/07/2026 13:44

Are you ok? 😂

pinkdelight · 01/07/2026 13:45

Yep, it's like going for a walk or a bike/train ride but in a car. Wild but true eh!

CateyeKate · 01/07/2026 13:46

I do this come rain or shine.

I love music and love it more when I'm in my little car with the sound up loud. I live semi-detached so can't blast music out too often.

I've always assumed it's quite normal?

ComtesseDeSpair · 01/07/2026 13:51

I don’t think you’re in the right place to be in a relationship right now if your first thought is that your partner must be cheating whenever they have a bit of free time and choose to do something they enjoy in it. “Jokey” accusations about meeting other women are quickly going to turn toxic - it’ll become miserable for him and is no way for either of you to live.

outerspacepotato · 01/07/2026 14:00

One time, some friends and I went driving around looking for the Amityville house and we had music on.

It can be done. It can be fun. You kind of blew the mood accusing him of cheating though.

Ohhhh new day... new thread 🙄
You'll see told the same thing you are told every thread... GROW UP AND LEAVE YOUR BOYFRIEND BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT 13!

patooties · 01/07/2026 14:05

I sometimes take a longer route home so I can listen to something in the car.

patooties · 01/07/2026 14:05

During lockdown we used to take it in turns to drive round the M60

Oh Lord, another one from her?!

How bored must you be to do this

Blueberries0761 · 01/07/2026 15:12

His behaviour is normal.
Your response to it isn't.

Wishimaywishimight · 01/07/2026 15:22

If he has any sense he will run a mile...

MrsPapillon · 01/07/2026 15:22

You have started 7 threads about various innocuous behaviours that you overthink about your partner.

You really shouldn’t be in a relationship. If you’re highlighting all these “issues” with him from his SM profile picture to a new toothbrush, it probably falls into the ‘abuse’ category. You need to let him go and sort your head out.

ChickenBananaBanana · 01/07/2026 15:27

Jesus girl you again with this bull?

You need actual MH help.

YorksMa · 01/07/2026 15:31

I've just been reading all your other posts about your poor boyfriend, many of them more concerning than this one. I think there are three possibilities:

  1. You're winding us all up.
  2. You're way too immature to be in any kind of relationship (you sound about 14)
  3. You're paranoid, controlling and abusive
Whichever one it is, you're being very unreasonable.

Does it definitly not sound like he was meeting a girl?

Can you just stop and do the maths a second? So he left at 6pm and took FIFTY minutes to get in his car, drive to another girl, spend time with her, get back in his car and drive to you? Are you ok?
