To think “influencers” like this should be banned?

I keep seeing a woman called “Nicole’s wellness journey” on TikTok. She claims to be on a (you guessed it) “wellness journey” but serves her husband the most horrendous food. She describes him as very hungry - and does things like a “cake sandwich” where she separates a chocolate cake from the supermarket, filled it with cakes and biscuits, and put it back together. She claims that’s normal for him.

AIBU or should this be banned, given the fact we’re in an obesity epidemic?

Have you reported her?

Have you reported her?

Yes, every time she comes up. A few times they’ve come back as ineligible for recommendation - so they break the rules

Its rage baiting or comedy isn't it?

She is not causing an obesity epidemic, that is being caused by the fact we are neolithic creatures who seek fat, sugar and salt like cavemen did, surrounded by more calories than we could ever burn. Food manufacturers and poor education cause obesity, not silly tiktoks or greed/laziness.

Enidrocks · 29/06/2026 18:36

Well you’ve reached the end of the road then and shouldn’t follow her

they’ll likely be lots out there that people think should be banned and aren’t.

No, she’s deadly serious. Her entire following is built on it.

It's obviously rage bait. Just unfollow and get on with your life.

takingitdown · 29/06/2026 18:39

I don’t follow her.

No she shouldn't be banned.

I hardly think Nicole's wellness journey is soley responsible for the obesity epidemic.

What about all the Man vs food types, should they be banned too? Cooking channels? Anyone eating crisps? Plus size fashion?

Where would it end?

I don’t follow her.

Then block or hide her.

ItsOnlyHobnobs · 29/06/2026 18:40

I think if you don’t enjoy something, don’t engage with it. It’s quite straightforward to block users on TikTok to stop seeing their content.

I think people who consistently promote excessive consumption of unhealthy foods should be at the least restricted

Is this shameless plugging? Regardless it is definitely rage baiting and for views and comments. This is the way influencers go now.

PomplaMouse · 29/06/2026 18:43

I just went onto her Instagram, where one of the recent videos is her eating 8 tubes of Pringles in 16 hours.

It seems to be obvious satire.

Enidrocks · 29/06/2026 18:44

takingitdown · 29/06/2026 18:39

I don’t follow her.

Well then click you’re not interested

because for someone you don’t follow… this is taking up a lot of head space.

Enidrocks · 29/06/2026 18:45

So you’re worried her husband is a vulnerable adult who lacks full capacity?

It’s a rage bait account. She’s one of those people who sees any comments as a good thing because they’re generating clicks, engagement and money for her. And she’ll now be getting even more from all the people who go over to look at her accounts after reading this thread

Also giving her free publicity. It's a win win for her🥳

I mean, this sounds more than doable… 😁

Duckrabbit · 29/06/2026 18:47

Surely he's an adult and can decide whether to a) eat it b) not eat it and get something else?

Backedoffhackedoff · 29/06/2026 18:47

It is rage bait. You can’t possibly think she’s genuine 😂 be careful on TikTok it’s full of fake shit like that

Exactly

This is… weird @takingitdown

You starting this thread and your concern about this!

PancakeCloud · 29/06/2026 18:49

No it shouldn’t be banned. There are lots of unsavoury influencers of all stripes but we don’t live in an authoritarian state where we ban content we don’t like.

momager22 · 29/06/2026 18:50

There’s loads of rage bait accounts on there. The more you look at them and engage with them the more money those ‘creators’ make

Chritrup · 29/06/2026 18:50

Sounds awful but if people don’t know that a sandwich made from a chocolate cake isn’t healthy, there’s no hope for them.
