I think it's a bit too much with the wood panelling as well.

concertinacornflake · 26/06/2026 10:42

Nice, simple, neutral.

purplecorkheart · 26/06/2026 10:43

It is nice and neutral and looks hardwearing.

dairydebris · 26/06/2026 10:43

Love it, but I assume you have no kids or husband who doesnt always take off his shoes. That'd last a week in this house

DancingNotDrowning · 26/06/2026 10:45

It’s nice and neutral.

personally i’d prefer the carpet to be a runner with the edge but there is absolutely nothing offensive or to dislike about it

5128gap · 26/06/2026 10:45

Like it very much. Am swapping out my grey one for very similar.

Love it!

Itchthescratch · 26/06/2026 10:45

I love it

Cuppachuchu · 26/06/2026 10:47

Love it too. Nearly bought a sofa in a similar neutral herringbone fabric.

Tcateh · 26/06/2026 10:47

It's nice but I'd avoid a pattern in those areas as the smallest mark will show up in a pattern that's so regimented imo

I think it’s nice but it may not be the best idea in those circumstances.

I was actually thinking the pattern might be good to hide marks?

Bland. And if you like bland it’s a great carpet.
In think those stairs are crying out for a stripey carpet though.

Jeschara · 26/06/2026 10:53

I think it's tasteful.

Butteredtoast55 · 26/06/2026 10:58

I like the tone and texture but the zig zag pattern would give me a migraine!
We've got a similar colour and style on our stairs and landing which has weathered over 12 years of teenagers/ young adults/ not so young adults trampling in and out so I think you'll be fine.

Trumptontown · 26/06/2026 11:01

I don’t have any extreme opinions either way but that photo looks a bit like an older person’s house. It may be the combo of the carpet and the panelling.

dudsville · 26/06/2026 11:01

It's a tastefully, classic choice and looks well done.

GasPanic · 26/06/2026 11:07

It looks a bit bland. I would go for the partial runner (2/3 the stair width) with
strong colour on the edges to set it off.

FudgeFudy · 26/06/2026 11:09

Rubbish! I was hoping for some 1980s-style stripe-and-polka-dot neon horrorshow that I could be scathing about, but that is a normal carpet that will barely go remarked upon. It's fine.

SwatTheTwit · 26/06/2026 11:09

Bland, but if you’re of the neutrals/beige persuasion I think it’s spot on.

sweatymessi · 26/06/2026 11:10

like it, where’s it from?

sweatymessi · 26/06/2026 11:11

presumably it’s not your walls/stairs? If so I think a coloured taping would lift it.

Balloonhearts · 26/06/2026 11:12

Nice. Looks like wool flatweave though, that'll be a bitch to clean.

Comicsareback · 26/06/2026 11:17

Lovely and it’ll last and not show dirt/ stains
