Is this strange? I haven’t been at my partners house in 6 days but like 2 spare tooth brushes have appeared ?? There was always only 2 me and his now there’s another 2 spare ones right beside ours im thinkin whose are they 🤣 I said to him oh what ones mine again and he was like you can use the purple one I just have spare ones ? Surely if they were spare you would keep them away? Theres now 4 in total out but only he lives here. He just has a son that comes and stays once a week

I always end up with a few toothbrushes on the go 😂 If I go on a work trip, or on holiday, I take a new toothbrush. Then when I come back, it sits in a toiletry bag that I’m too unlazy to pack, and when they finally do get unpacked, I have 2-3 on the go at once.

My DP is the same. He has his regular toothbrush, then his gym toothbrush, and his travel toothbrush (he travels frequently for work), but they ultimately all end up in the pot at some point through the month when the gym bag or wash bag is also in the wash.

Does it sound like he has other people staying in his or anything??

It doesn’t sound like that to me. If he did, he’d surely have hidden your toothbrush first, and then the second one after? I think if he had anything to hide, he’d be hiding the evidence of things like that x

Toothbrushes can be like old wire coat-hangers, in as much as they seem to multiply by themselves...

LittleGreenShoots · 26/06/2026 01:11

I have an extra/ spare manual toothbrush for when my electric one runs out of battery.

Maybe he was thinking about his son when he laid the other out.

suburberphobe · 26/06/2026 02:42

Maybe he was thinking about his son when he laid the other out.

Of course. If his son is around regularly why not just leave the toothbrush in the toothbrush beaker in the bathroom. That's the norm.

You're overthinking it OP. You think he has a few women on the go who leave their toothbrush there? I doubt it when he has a child to take care of.

ColdAsAWitches · 26/06/2026 03:08

I buy toothbrushes in packs of three. It's probably as simple as that.

Yeah but I just wonder why there’s 4 sittin out when there’s only 3 of us

Do you not trust him? This seems like you’re saying he has another girlfriend, which is quite a leap unless there is a backstory.

We’ve only been together 6 months so it’s hard but I haven’t been at his house in like a week but last time there was 2

I have 3 manual toothbrushes for adults and 2 electric and the multiple toddler brushes and there are 3 in the house. so double the brushes as people. I also have 2 in my travel bag and 2 downstairs

Fibrous · 26/06/2026 12:49

You’re paranoid. They are just toothbrushes.

FWC2026 · 26/06/2026 12:51

for crying out loud, just stop seeing him & leave him to his wayward toothbrush life. He's obviously up to no good. He might even be over using floss or mouthwash.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 26/06/2026 12:59

I have four on the go myself currently. I wouldn't even give it head space.

amylou8 · 26/06/2026 13:04

Me and DD for some reason have 5 toothbrushes for the 2 of us. I must enquire which one is hers and chuck the stray 3 out.

Ibi · 26/06/2026 13:05

I think that this isn’t the relationship for you. It’s only been a short time, there shouldn’t be this sort of paranoia.

BillieWiper · 26/06/2026 13:10

A grown man who doesn't use an electric toothbrush would be enough to question his dedication to adulthood. Does he floss and TP?

But maybe he has friends staying over/randomly crashing so has spares for that? But you'd think they'd be in a sealed packet.

Did they look used?

None of it seems that normal when I think of it. Unless he's very young and lives in a party house.

MinnieCauldwell · 26/06/2026 13:12

I dated a guy and one day he spotted two brushes and accused me of being unfaithful, I tried to explain that I had 2 on the go, one for home and one for work travel. Fucking loon, I got rid of him but not soon enough unfortunately

Winterpeach · 26/06/2026 13:19

I live alone im single and I have 3 unopened ones in the cupboard, and 2 in my toothbrush holder, there was 3 😁, soft medium and hard, yes im very odd.
Oh and a small one with a cap on in my back pack.

Arregaithel · 26/06/2026 13:24

If his son (what's his age?) has visited since you were last there, it could be just as simple as the boy had forgotten his brush and his Dad had spares?

It is disconcerting though, that at such an early stage in your relationship, you are worried about his fidelity?

Given that and the fact he has a child, you may need to reconsider the whole thing before you get in too deep @rachel55488

Eh? I'm a grown man who's never had an electric toothbrush.

Never had to have any work done on my teeth, they're perfect. (Well, almost. I went through a bit of a pen chewing phase and chipped one of them)

It's perfectly possible to look after your teeth without having yet another device that needs charging.

Your teeth are perfect? That's good. It's much easier to achieve that with an electric brush. To me it's essential. But I'm glad you've never had any dental issues.

I don't disagree that it's probably easier to achieve with an electric toothbrush.

I just don't get why not owning one stops you from being a grown-up

That was kind of meant to be a joke. But it makes it easier to have good oral hygiene which is not something anyone below adulthood would probably care about as much?

If they've been in your boyfriend, just make sure you don't use them to brush your teeth.
