FUCKING COCKWOMBLE!
Just got back from the supermarket. Important context (I think) - it is already 30° here.
As I was walking across the carpark I saw a woman getting out of her car and I thought to myself , "wow , she is about seventeen months pregnant, that must be miserable in this heat". Just as she we're shutting her car door a man came striding over clearly agitated and started laying into her about parking in a parent and child spot. She was flustered and sort of half apologised, explaining that she needed a bit of extra room and really appreciated not being miles away from the front door.
The man didn't stop having a go and said something along the lines of "it's a parent and child spot, not a lazy and massive spot".
I saw red!
The poor woman looked like she was about to cry (don't blane her) and started mumbling apolgies again, which is when I said, "absolutely do NOT apologise!" and turned to him and "have you really got nothing better to do you fucking cockwomble" (my favourite swear, honestly).
He at least had the good grace to shut the fuck up and walk away.
The woman said thanks and we had a little chat about the miseries of being heavily pregnant in hot weather.
Inside I ran into a friend and told her about the situ and she said that she wouldn't have said anything, not her circus etc.
Was I being unreasonable to step in and call the man what he was definitely being??

You did the right thing.

Bristolandlazy · 21/06/2026 12:10

Go girl, unless you'd spoken when she fighting her own battle then good for you. Sounds like she was overwhelmed by it and happy for you to fight her battle. What a dick head, hooray he walked away.

Error404FucksNotFound · 21/06/2026 12:10

Hell no.
He needed to be told to fuck right off.

MasterBeth · 21/06/2026 12:11

YABU.

Cockwomble is a twee, childish proto-swear word.

You should have called him a cunt.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 21/06/2026 12:13

Absolutely did the right thing and also my favourite swear so I applaud you!

Dearg · 21/06/2026 12:15

Well done Op. it’s good when people are supported against bullies. 👏🏻👏🏻

I have never used the word cockwomble, but will bear it in mind 😁

Screamingabdabz · 21/06/2026 12:16

I wish men would do that every time some cocksure gym bro swings into the P&C spaces. Usually in some massive souped up penis extension of a car. That gives me the rage. But yes, it’s bad form to be haranguing a pregnant woman. Glad you were there to tell him to jog on.

Itiswhysofew · 21/06/2026 12:16

Glad you did that. She was struggling and you helped her out.

What was his problem? Was he waiting to park there, or just fancied having a go at a womanAngry

PenandPip · 21/06/2026 12:09

You did the right thing.

This.

He's a twat.

Rizzz · 21/06/2026 12:23

Gosh you seem very excited about it, even down to the clickbait title.

However, I'm sure she appreciated the support whatever the language.

I mean I was excited as in very worked up yes! And what can I say about the clickbait title? I work in marketing 😄

HoppityBun · 21/06/2026 12:27

YABU because cockwomble is cringeworthy

Unpaidworkmakestheeconomytick · 21/06/2026 12:30

Good for you!!! 🤸

This. Sometimes, only cunt will do.

LilacDrift · 21/06/2026 12:34

And then everyone stood up and clapped.

I'm cringing at 'cockwomble' tbh.

UniquePinkSwan · 21/06/2026 12:36

Cockwomble is nowhere near a swear word

Justthethingsthatyoudointhisgarden · 21/06/2026 12:39

He was bullying a heavily pregnant woman, who is entitled to park in those spaces. I agree with someone upthread though. I would have called him a cunt.

IDrinkTeaAllTheTime · 21/06/2026 12:43

Good for you, OP. More people should stand up to these cockwombles. You probably made such a difference in that woman’s day when she would have felt totally shit, and you genuinely never know what people are going through 💕.

MajorSamanthaCarter · 21/06/2026 12:45

Cockwomble is a really twee non swear word, I'd have gone with twat

Gastongaston · 21/06/2026 12:45

Horrible man. You did the right thing.

Rizzz · 21/06/2026 12:47

FlayOtters · 21/06/2026 12:26

I mean excited to tell your friend in the supermarket and excited to tell Mumsnet with caps lock etc.

Have you never stood up for anyone before?

Friendlygingercat · 21/06/2026 12:51

Good for you OP.

I used to work as a dominatrix on a chat line so I am capable of some extreme verbal violence. Ive seen the surprise bordering in fear in men's eyes when I went for them. Inevitably they walked off with their tail between their legs. I would have enjoyed cutting him down to size in my younger days. I can be a bitch.

ALovelyPinkUnicorn · 21/06/2026 12:52

You were very refined op! And absolutely NU!!

InterestedDad37 · 21/06/2026 12:55

Well done 👏 👏 👏
