I don't know if the Labour government have got round to changing it, but you should see the list of professions that you could use apply for a Visa in this country under Boris Johnson - that included things like blogger and supermarket trolley assistant. And you could bring your family if you were studying here.

So we have a whole bunch of unknowns for no reason whatsoever.

And then look at Abd Alaa El Fattah - Keir Starmer was so excited about him arriving here, he told the nation via X on Boxing Day

I can see the argument because he had a mother born here, it would've been difficult to turn him down for citizenship. Difficult but not impossible by any stretch. And he may well have failed the good character test if they had applied it. But of course they didn't bother. Because everyone's allowed to come here particularly if they actively speak against the West. I mean really this is the sort of person who it would be reasonable to turn down a temporary Visa application - but no Britain rolled out the red carpet for him

Where I live we have a immigrant hotel and exactly the same happens. Girls are afraid to go past them so no longer go swimming as that is where immigration hotel is located.

People that don't have these immigration hotels have no idea how intimidating it is for females. And they all seem to smoke or vape despite apparently having no money. They spit too.

The immigrant hotel near to me closed recently. Loads have since the last GE. There's been a halfway house at the corner of my street since I moved here.

My youngest is under 10. My parents are both over 70. I am a working class, single parent living inner-city in a 2bed, council house, doing my best.

HMOs are necessary. For single people, poorer people, separated people, immigrants and young people in the UK.

If you want to get rid of the immigrant hotels in your area yer best bet is voting Labour. They've closed loads of them down. They've processed and deported loads more people than the Tories did. Which is a bit mad when you think about it.🤯

We know British men do this, although arguably less often now than years ago, but why does that mean we should have to also stand for it from men from elsewhere. As has been said, we have enough British scum to deal with, we don’t need scum from other countries.

Would YOU be ok with groups of illegal immigrants hanging around on street corners near to your children's schools/colleges or work place?
Would YOU be relaxed knowing your child is out in the town centre at night where illegal immigrants also congregate?
Would YOU feel happy to know your child is at the local park, where illegal immigrants also hang around?

Of course you wouldn't be! And anyone who says they wouldn't be concerned are either liars or not caring parents, in my opinion.

What if some of the immigrants turn out to be 'fascists' according to the Brighton scale of fascism? What if they don't respect the dykes or the dolls or don't like black people? Will they still be welcome or will they be turned away because they don't fit in and should go back to where they came from?

What will be hilarious is the speed at which Reform shifts their focus from immigration to removing workers rights & protections and vilifying people on social welfare, absolutely screwing the people who voted for them.

@00K Liverpool has done this for decades. It was the only city that the EDL wasn't able to march through. Unfortunately there's been a shift, a lot of marches are organised by out of towners and we have a criminal element that join in. Although a few incidents have been a justified reaction.
We do need sensible discussions. The police had asked for no counter protesting against the march at County Road, Liverpool. But it was ignored and the whole thing became unmanageable. The counter protesting is just giving them the chance of a scrap. If they had just been walked from Walton to Liverpool city centre, by the Police, they'd have looked a bit stupid.

You need to lobby for a Crowborough type barracks near you. Labour use those instead.

I did see a nasty run in between an LGBT person and a clearly very religious person. The latter was taking extreme offence at ‘Gays for Gaza’ and did not want them as part of the movement.

@Sunshineonacloudyday111 and your use of 'illegal immigrants' is why we can't have sensible discussions. They are asylum seekers. So we need to work out a quick system of management. I agree with no asylum seekers in our prisons, we should deport criminals. Rather than expensive hotels, we should have had centers which gave a education about our society. But the Tories didn't do a lot of 'shoulds' and we are in the mess we are in. However we've got to work within the laws and treaties that exsist and those wanting change need to understand why the boats can't be stopped, easily and what we could do. I will concede that without the early protests, these issues wouldn't even be on the government's agenda.

I wouldn’t vote for Reform predominantly because of these reasons but that doesn’t mean I don’t have serious and very valid concerns about immigration - everything from an overpopulation and environmental perspective, to the concerns about culture clashes.

You won’t get any poster saying yes. Just those ranting at others about how wrong they are not to.

The vast majority of Reform voters are not going to be on those marches, they’re working people and (like everyone else typing away here yesterday) the thought of a heavily policed march with high potential for disorder does not appeal to them.

The fascists versus antifascists group aren’t symbolic of the split across wider society, nor are their silly signs, Nazi salutes or spitting in the faces of police officers (on the ‘antifascist’ side).
