Just that..

So I have lots of negatives but balancing my significant brain fog is this weird calm feeling that I haven't had before.

I wake up at 4.30am daily, so have lots more time to get stuff done!

GirlFromMontmartre · 04/06/2026 07:19

I give absolutely no fucks and decline anything I don’t fancy without feeling bad

This!!!!!

sweetpotatowedgeswithmayo · 04/06/2026 07:27

I have become a misanthropic hermit and I don’t care - no fomo, nothing. It’s joyous!

Pinkissmart · 04/06/2026 07:27

My hair went really curly

RampantIvy · 04/06/2026 07:29

I care less about what other people think, and therefore feel more self confident.

It doesn't mean that I am rude and ride roughshod over other people though, but I am less "needy".

As a result, I find that it is easier to be politely assertive because I don't worry about any potential fallout if I refuse an invutation, for example. Although, there generally isn't any fallout because there aren't any unreasonable people in my life.

My bullshit radar is more finely developed as well, hence there being no unreasonable people in my circle.

snowie75 · 04/06/2026 07:30

I wake up before 5am every day - 3:30am this morning.
If do have a morning where I've slept beyond 5sm I feel like I've slept late. I love having the time in the morning to myself

FastFood · 04/06/2026 07:33
  • No fucks to give and as a matter of fact, none given.
  • Birds, bumblebees and a nice looking fern make me happy
  • My eyes are incredibly dry at night so I have discovered the pleasures of sleeping with an eye mask and I love it
  • Really looking forward to see the bumblebees in the park in morning not joking.
Tooprincipled · 04/06/2026 07:37

I'm a comfortable temperature for the first time in my life.

Missohnoyoubetterdont · 04/06/2026 07:44

sexual freedom? No worry about contraception. Not caring what anyone thinks. My brain fog has gone giving me clarity again now I’m out the other side and less emotional rollercoaster ing! 😂

Missohnoyoubetterdont · 04/06/2026 07:45

Oh, and instant appreciation and love of bird watching and gardening ( just happens!)

Seagulldancing · 04/06/2026 07:47

I am no longer cold all the time. Its actually really amazing!

Slimtoddy · 04/06/2026 08:02

I am menopausal and biggest advantage is no PMT and no period pain. I used to get terrible brain fog with PMT and actually think clearer now.

RampantIvy · 04/06/2026 08:06

@FastFood which eye mask do you use? I have dry eyes and wonder how using an eye mask helps.

bellventrico · 04/06/2026 08:10

I always wore a decent coverage foundation to conceal open pores and blackheads- they completely closed due to hormone changes and though I have some wrinkles I've better skin than when I was 20- no coverage or a light cc cream is all I need

Arcadia · 04/06/2026 08:33

Only have to wash my hair twice a week now as it’s less greasy than before! Also fewer spots as skin less greasy.
I’ve also discovered an enhanced enjoyment of nature/wildlife that others mention, from ‘slowing down’ a bit (but could just be age).
I’m getting clearer with my boundaries and less of a people pleaser.

elQuintoConyo · 04/06/2026 08:37

My libido went through the roof! Poor DH is a husk 🤣

On a further note, I was talking to a friend the other day and said 'brain frog' because I couldn't remember the word 'fog'. So, it's that now. I may imortalise that in a cross stitch [life on the edge].

PrincessFairyWren · 04/06/2026 08:44

As per above my hair is less oily.

Also I have separated from my DH because I realized that he doesn’t see me or value me. I have spent a lot of years turning myself into a pretzel to make myself worthy and he just kept moving the goal posts. One day I flew into a rage and had clarity that I can choose me or stay miserable.

This exactly. I don't tie myself into knots wondering if people will be offended if I do something, or don't do something. I have stopped seeing a couple of toxic "friends" and feel zero guilt about it. It's not about being rude, it's about being assertive and that all comes much more easily.

Tooprincipled · 04/06/2026 08:50

Ah, ditto work PrincessFairyWren... I have quit my job because I realized that they don’t see me or value me. I have spent a lot of years turning myself into a pretzel to make myself worthy and they just kept moving the goal posts. One day I flew into a rage and had clarity that I can choose me or stay miserable...

I am genuinely struggling to think of a positive. There were a few that PPs mentioned like libido but they recently disappeared overnight with no warning and were replaced by worsening of the crappy symptoms, so in general perimenopause can just fuck off.

JustPlainStanfreyPock · 04/06/2026 09:00

No more periods as not medicated, no more monthly hormonal rollercoaster.
DNGAF!

It honestly gets better when you are out the other side.
I had horrendous migraines when I was going through it, but they are a thing of the past now as well or it could be that I drink lots of tea these days

Gigglegiggle · 04/06/2026 09:22

Horny AF for half my cycle.

I mean the other half is a mess but those two weeks are great 😉

Thank you.
It’s the uncertainty that has got me down lately. I had just sort of gotten to grips with things as they were and then it’s like the rug got pulled from under me.
Glad to hear your migraines are gone.
