To consider cancelling my holiday because of the EES?

I just can’t cope with this stress. I will be travelling alone and I can’t afford (literally or mentally) to miss a flight because of this system.

I just don’t want to go. It’s looming over me. I did it in February going into Norway, but that makes no difference. You’re still in the queue for hours. I’m flying with Ryanair and they only open their bag drop 2 hours before, they’re now saying three hours to get through. So it’ll be literally impossible.

Just flown with Ryanair, was self check in and bag drop off, flew from Manchester, we were there 3 hours before, very very easy

I think a lot of people flying with Ryanair don't have any checked luggage, so they can arrive and go through security an hour or more before the bag-drop opens.

Very good point. I have often seen people online recommend that disgruntled & entitled posters specifically request “wheelchair assistance” (that they don’t actually require) in order to avoid the routine hassles of air travel, which repulses me, however other forms of disability certainly do need support. I am a big supporter of the sunflower lanyard programme which indicates ‘invisible’ disability and identifies those who may need additional assistance.

But this thread is wild. I don’t think that this amount of angry ranting about Keir Starmer & the footy warrants anything but an eye roll.

Don't you blame any of his predecessors for not negotiating this? After all, Johnson and his mates had 8 years after Brexit and actually negotiated the deal, if it's that easy surely they could have sneaked in a clause exempting British citizens from airport security queues?

Why don't you people blame the EU for bad border control.......there are Aussies who live and work in the UK who want to go on holiday to the EU... Do they deserve a bad experience at the border?

Also. The UK let's EU citizens use e-gates. If the EU is all so great why can't it design a smooth border process for non citizens?

There's only so much he can do regarding e-gates. Some countries have implemented it. The EU should be better at rollout.

There are way more important things to negotiate in the world than passport control.

Maybe we should stop EU citizens using our egates then. That would be fair
