It’s been really pleasant getting a notification from mumsnet today to tell me I have a message…..

To sign in after inactivity for a while, due to being a first time mum and busy… to this.

As if there are people in the world who spend their down time sending vile messages to someone they don’t know, by name, face… nothing.

I didn’t respond, I just decided to bring it here. For all to see.

Mumsnet are reviewing the photo attached but the message was “your a failure as a mum and a vile b*tch, go to hell”.

Then I'd suggest disabling DMs.

Yes switch them off there has been some vile stuff messaged on here. If you do want to take something private you can mention to that poster and pop your messages back in temporarily.

Or quiet as a mouse and brave AF on a screen.

There have been loads of issues with PMs and weird threads lately. MNHQ needs to look into this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Exactly. At least if people post on the boards and not be a coward and take it to PM, everyone else can see what a nasty person they are.
Although I can see the merit in screenshotting a PM and making it public too, like OP has done.

You can also initiate PM conversations, even if no one can initiate them with you.
