Is this really that unusual? Leggings debate

My two besties have just left mine. Amongst the copious amounts of wine, we somehow got onto the subject of what we wear under leggings. As I thought was normal, my friend and I said we don’t wear anything, much to our others friend’s amazement! The leggings are tight enough without anything else 😂

No I know why some leggings actually show the outline of peoples pubes! They’re clearly not wearing pants underneath.

Out of curiosity OP, do you wear pants with jeans or joggers? If you do, then why are leggings different?

I don’t have discharge but at the end of the day my underwear is a little musty.

I don't wear anything under leggings, I'm not unhygienic! And I only wear them once before washing them! I tried knickers of all types and ended up with them being dragged down underneath all the time. Then a friend asked why I bothered with knickers at all! Game changer! Much more comfy. The leggings I wear now have a little gusset in them anyway!

I mostly wear leggings for activities which means I'll get sweaty, so yes to knickers. But even if I was just mooching around- it's probably okay since I'm fast heading to menopause, but in younger days - we'll, I knew when I was ovulating. And also ot bleached my gussets a bit. So I think an extra layer is wise, but I don't really care what others do.

they go in the wash after one wear so what’s the issue

Just to add, I don't suffer with a leaky fadge, that's grimmer to me than not wearing knickers under leggings! I think if some of you are suffering with so much discharge, you need to get that checked out!
Maybe I'm lucky that I don't have damp gusset issues!

Personally, I just don't like leggings without a longer top or tunic so the current way of wearing them - even as sportswear - is not for me. If I was going to wear them, I would wear knickers. Plenty of seam free options out there. If they camel toe or do the equivalent look to the bum cheeks they look absurd

I think it's seen as unhygienic because leggings material can often (thought not always) be quite thin, clingy and in general non-absorbent, so if you sit down anywhere and you have discharge, it could potentially soak though and be unpleasant.

I wear my comfy granny pants. My tops are generally long enough to cover my bum.
