Recently? Over the last few days to w week, they have been insane, one night of a really horrific nightmare too, don’t generally have them, is it something to do with moon…!? God knows

Me too. The night before last was a really nasty nightmare

PurpleNebula84 · 10/04/2026 22:00

I woke up in a panic after a dream last night... Someone called James came to my house to pick something up.. It was someone a friend knew and they'd arranged it, he walked into my house with his mate and they started cornering me, my daughter was in another room and I was so scared what they were going to do and the dog wasn't around to protect me! It seemed so real and I woke up feeling like it had actually happened for brief moment!

YourSassyPanda · 10/04/2026 22:11

I never dream but have had horrendous trouble sleeping over the last week or so despite being exhausted from work. Was worried I was somersaulting into sudden peri but if you lot are blaming the moon then I am on board too!

Me too, of a panther attacking my kids. My daughter dreamt of a wolf attacking us the same night. What’s your theory?

I have no idea! I have had a couple of very vivid and frightening nightmares this week, where I even went downstairs to Dh to tell him as I was scared to go back to sleep. I don’t generally have them very often, didn’t think much of it aside from wondering if it was the after effects of possible covid, but then saw a couple of friends posting similar on Instagram and thought it was strange, could be nothing in it

I think it’s the moon too, last time I had dreams like this was when I took magnesium and prior to this Covid!

Morepositivemum · 10/04/2026 22:17

Ps sorry it was a bad one

I wondered about covid too as had awful ones during/after it in the past
But what with the moon? It was a full moon last week I think but nothing else in particular?
Maybe all the news/Trump stuff, it’s just all accumulated? I don’t watch news on tv etc though

Mine started about 2 months ago, I have always been a very light sleeper. Since 2 months ago I am now a very heavy sleeper with strange, strong dreams every night. When I wake up I remember them and have started writing them down.

They are always about random ppl I do not know but there's always a story to it, things happen in the dream good bad and strange. I am also in the dreams with these random ppl. And each dream the other ppl are different each time.

This is unlike me. Nothing different is happening in my life so I don't know why or how it's started.

notthedogsfault · 10/04/2026 22:26

Yes!!! Usually I either don’t dream at all or can’t remember much, or I’ll occasionally have nightmares that feel like those repetitive fever dreams where you’re trying and failing to do something.

But lately I’ve been having a completely different kind of dream - really vivid and realistic, often with several storylines/segments in one night. Not unpleasant but also not necessarily “good,” just neutral? I also find it harder to wake up because I’m so invested in whatever I’m dreaming at the time! And they stay with me all day - in fact, there are some I’m still thinking about days later…

notthedogsfault · 10/04/2026 22:28

Oh… and I’ve had a nasty cold the past week or two. Covid did cross my mind but I didn’t bother testing for it…

Keepforgettingtomoisturise · 10/04/2026 22:41

My Dd also said she had three different dreams (not scary) last night, she’s only little so I worry about nightmares for her

I've had weird sex dreams the last two nights, with people I know in real life but wouldn't ever think about having sex with. Actually woke up having an orgasm both times. Never experienced anything like it, and have no idea why it's happening now. I'm on Sertraline, so actually I can't currently orgasm during sex (or on my own) so it's weird that it happens in my dreams!

SunnyspellsandScatteredshowers · 10/04/2026 23:05

I was thinking yesterday how I've been having really strange, vivid dreams for the last couple of weeks. And sometimes more than one per night. Very weird that loads of other people are too! Maybe it's down to all the uncertainty of what's going on in the world at the moment?

InNewYorkNoShoes · 10/04/2026 23:11

This is so weird! I have had the most bizarre dreams the past week. They are very nostalgic dreams, like my day at uni or picking outfits to wear out clubbing. My dad has been unwell and my children are home for Easter hols so I figured it was due to being pulled in different directions emotionally.

OnSecondThoughts · 11/04/2026 00:20

I keep on getting funny momentary flashbacks in the day to dreams I had the last night, but the flashbacks come and go so quick that before I've even had time to think 'oh, the memory of that dream has come right back to me' it's gone again, and I can't even tell you what I remembered. Very weird.

PGmicstand · 11/04/2026 00:27

I always dream weird stuff, and have done so for many years.

Cyberjammies · 11/04/2026 01:48

I rarely do but had really bizarre, long nightmares last nights, really disturbing

Shatandfattered · 11/04/2026 01:55

I've had a dream that seems to continue chapters each night, I am me but my life is in an alternate universe, I can be three or four mes in one night. One night I'm rich next night I'm gay next night I'm back in time next night I'm in a different world it's so hard to describe. I have different children or the same children sometimes, it's hard to pinpoint much it's so real though.

Dunderheided · 11/04/2026 02:01

I never usually remember having any dreams, but have been having vivid dreams the past three days.

I’d put it down to re-starting a WLI, odd to see that there’s so many of us.

Thinking of Carl Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious now.

colloqneuro · 11/04/2026 02:06

Yes. But... surely you could ask this any day and a load of people would say yes.
Because statistics
I do totally believe in the moon affecting sleep though.

Sertraline 150 mg dreams.
Ancient civilisation milking a bird by tapping it's head.
Big carrot slices that the people put in their mouths evolved over time become beaks ,oh and the milked bird the milk run out of the beak.🤯

Paroxetine dreams here, for the past 28 years. They can fuck right off.

MeAndMyGhost · 11/04/2026 04:21

Every night for the last couple of weeks in particular. I'm in the ME and thought I was handling the stress of the missile attacks ok, but my subconscious clearly isn't. It's exhausting.

DaveGroh · 11/04/2026 04:46

Just woke up from a mental one. I was trying to stop the blood shooting out of a doctors hand after he had got glass in it, then the hotel I was staying in conveniently doubled up as the hospital !

Nitgel · 11/04/2026 05:15

Dreaming of water on ceilings and entire house needing renovation. Can't sleep now
