Me too…am working Good Friday but then I’m surprising dp with a hot air balloon ride with all our kids for a big birthday…

Breadandbutta · 29/03/2026 18:03

Church 🍞 🍷 🔨 ❤️ 🪨 💐 😇 🤩 ✨ 🕊️ ☁️

Cuppachuchu · 29/03/2026 18:12

🍫🍫🍫🍫🥚🐥😉🍷🛏🍽🍻, basically.

Everintroverte · 29/03/2026 18:13

Child free that weekend so a nice walk followed by some chocolates 😊

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 29/03/2026 18:16

I am having family for Easter Sunday lunch. There will be 8 of us, so not huge. However I'm doing a buffet and never knowingly underused, so the table will be groaning. My grandsons will be hyper on chocolate, my uncle will wind them up and my son has news for the family. Can't wait

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 29/03/2026 18:16

Birthday party and a football match on Good Friday. Nothing planned for Saturday, Sunday or Monday.
So, chocolate and stopping the kids killing each other….

ShanghaiDiva · 29/03/2026 18:20

we are atheist so it’s business as usual for us - gym, roast lunch, gardening, cleaning..
DD is home from uni so no doubt there will be chocolate.

Raera · 29/03/2026 18:20

Also church!
Thursday evening Mass.
Friday afternoon Passion, Friday evening stations
Saturday annual major church cleaning.
Sunday morning Mass, then family round for roast lamb

AliasGrape · 29/03/2026 18:21

Nothing this year, we’re usually a bit more organised. Friend and I just debating a play date/ trip to adventure play place on the Friday - it’s outdoor though and weather looks awful.

Nothing planned on Sat, Sunday will do an egg hunt for DD then possibly call in to see the in laws. I usually invite them for a roast dinner but it’s been a really really hectic and difficult time for various reasons and I just don’t think I have the energy this year. We might take some afternoon tea type stuff round there instead.

No idea on the Mon.

CallingOnTheMegaphone · 29/03/2026 18:24

I'll be redecorating the bedrooms.

Arlanymor · 29/03/2026 18:24

Plans still shaping up and was supposed to be going for a big family meal in the Valleys, but not happening now with dad's recent surgery, so currently:

  • Big food festival on in town - lots of taste tasting and general piggery
  • Phil Wang standups on Netflix - assuming at least one day will have crap weather and I have tickets to see Philly Philly Wang Wang in October!
  • Good old beach walk on whichever day the weather holds with a nice brunch at the end - and I can even have a mimosa because my city offers free buses to everyone during Easter which is honestly such a good thing
  • Documentary screening and a talk on a local poltergeist from 1965 at the local library... I am sure I heard about this case once before on a podcast so very interested to learn more but also have people presenting who were there at the time.

I work, so only the long weekend off. Possibility of a bit of live music and/or live comedy too but I also only moved recently and should really be sorting my house out with the extra time presented by this weekend...

Spaghettion · 29/03/2026 18:28

Going out for dinner on Friday with friends, Cooking a roast on Sunday, I think mil is coming down for the day and going to a garden centre on Monday with my sister.

MissyB1 · 29/03/2026 18:28

Driving down to Kent (about 3.5 hours away) to stay with friends on Good Friday, drive home on Easter Sunday. Dh’s birthday on bank holiday Monday - nothing planned for that yet 😱

Onadark · 29/03/2026 18:29

Good Friday - cinema with a girlfriend.
Easter Saturday - brunch in town with 5 other girlfriends! Got family coming over for cocktails and nibbles later that evening.
Easter Sunday - church then me and the kids are going back to a friends house for a roast lamb dinner.
Easter Monday - off to Miami for a fortnight

Can't Wait!

We've got family staying, arriving on Thursday evening. Brother, sister-in-law, sister (single) adult niece (single) and my father. My (late teens) daughter will be the youngest person:

Thursday: Dinner, drinks sit up late catching up.

Friday: Breakfast - hot cross buns, smoked salmon and scrambled egg and bucks fizz. Go to the beach if the weather is nice enough, otherwise visit the local (touristy) town, look at shops, eat ice cream and look round the castle. In the evening we'll relax, have dinner, drink cocktails and play games.

Saturday: Similar to Friday, but we'll be going out for a meal in the evening to celebrate my niece's birthday.

Sunday: Exchange Easter eggs, have a light breakfast, probably boiled egg and soldiers. I will be cooking a roast lamb lunch for everyone. After lunch, we'll go for a walk on the beach. In the evening, we'll have a light tea and probably more games.

Monday: Early start for breakfast in a local café followed by a steam train ride. Goodbye to guests in the afternoon and then home with my husband and daughter.

I'm looking forward to it.

As little as possible, followed by chocolate

queenofwandss · 29/03/2026 18:31

Seeing family and friends for roast dinners and eating chocolate for breakfast hopefully!

if nice weather a nice day out somewhere with the family. Hoping to also do some planting

DinoLil · 29/03/2026 18:38

Nothing.

damelza · 29/03/2026 18:38

Nothing much, free as a bird. Love it that way.

Ninerainbows · 29/03/2026 18:40

Taking DS to the cinema to see Mario on Friday. Otherwise nothing. I dislike Easter. I live in the South West and it's packed out on the roads, at all the attractions and in all the restaurants.
