I have quite a specific example.

I have a family member who saves photos from my social media page, saves them and then posts them onto her own page. (Without permission.)

It has been driving me nuts, even though it’s so petty!

What about you?

OP posts:

When someone call when whatever they wanted to say could've easily been said in a text. Especially when they call multiple times in a row when I'm not picking up.

Jhm88 · 26/03/2026 15:17

@honeylulu just realised you said similar!

Thepeopleversuswork · 26/03/2026 15:18

People blaming everything that goes wrong in their lives to the menopause or “peri”, particularly when it’s used to explain their reasonable reaction to shit behaviour

People self describing as “introvert” when they are actually just anxious or grumpy

People watching video or reels or listening to music on public transport without headphones

CruCru · 26/03/2026 15:20

One of my children went to A&E recently and then had a few follow up appointments (NOT life threatening, just something worth sorting). My husband has handled all the appointments, attended them all and has been the one to ring the hospital.

BUT they always ring me when they want to get in touch. They have both our numbers, there’s no reason for having to speak to me rather than him.

ToadRage · 26/03/2026 15:23

People who say Haitch for the letter H. It's sounds stupid and wrong. People who completely ignore disabled people, I went to the bank with my Grandma cos her card stopped working and the person we spoke kept talking to me about not her, I had to tell him to speak to her, its her card.

NimbleHiker · 26/03/2026 15:38

People who feel the need to drone on about themselves endlessly. They don't grasp the concept that conversations are meant to be 2 way. People who have loud phone conversations and they have their phone on speaker. I don't want to virtually attend your meeting and i don't want your medical history.

When someone rings the doorbell/knocks at the door then starts hammering the door before I get the chance to answer it

When this happens i answer the door panting like i have been running and say sorry i took so long to answer, i was in the East wing.

Ihateboris · 26/03/2026 15:53

The phrase "game changer "

DeftGoldHedgehog · 26/03/2026 16:19

Petty but amused me this morning. I got up to let the woman next to me off the train. Guy behind me loudly tutted and huffed because he was delayed by probably one second in getting off the train himself.

LoveheartBear · 26/03/2026 16:20

I know I moan about it a lot on similar threads, but I can honestly say my biggest lighthearted peeve is when I see the words ‘loose’ and ‘lose’ used incorrectly.

I accept I often make errors in my posts, so I’m by no means saying I’m perfect, but it really bothers me for some reason (as I know it does others).

DeftGoldHedgehog · 26/03/2026 16:22

Enrichetta · 26/03/2026 15:03

The change in pronouncing proven, from Pru ven to pro ven it really really gets my goat.

What? Where?

Surely not 😱

That and H "haitch" is just different accents though? Parts of Scotland say proven not pruven. Haitch is an Irish rendition. Not incorrect, just different and nothing which should irritate you.

That happened to me yesterday when my Gousto box was being delivered. I wonder if it’s because they are always running late/on a tight schedule…

Silly of you.
These are all things which shouldn't be irritating but they are! They just simply are. So there's no need for you to be so reactionary. 😆 People can feel things.

People who start a controversial thread and never come back to it despite hundreds of following posts.

Getting pills out of blister packs - really hurts my fingers as Ive got arthritis and takes forever to get teeny tablets out of several packs for a weekly organiser.

Mothers day flowers from M&S dying after just over a week. I bet they were expensive too.

Me wanting to treat myself to 'something' but cant find any tat I like on Haul or Temu.

trousers/leggings/knickers that keep slipping down
blouses that are the right size but gape open showing your bra
bras that start off underwired then end up with the wire poking up the middle part usually without you knowing but everyone else sees it first or into your arm pit
yes clothes annoy me

TroysMammy · 26/03/2026 16:34

People who hold their phones in front of their face to have a conversation. In fact it's a pain in the arse when the person you are speaking to has hearing loss and don't get annoyed that you have to repeat yourself a few times. Also why do it whilst standing next to a busy road and/or outside on a windy day? You're the problem not the person on the other end of the phone.

Personalised number plates where they have misplaced the letters/numbers to say something.

Really irritates me - just follow the bloody law on it.

And just say this as someone with a personalised plate but displayed correctly as per the law.

Really petty thing to get annoyed about but it winds me up!

Opening a pack of tablets and getting the leaflet end every time

The leaflet is at the end where the expiry date/batch code is, so just make sure you open it the other end ☺️.

Edited

I feel like you have just changed my life!!

shellyleppard · 26/03/2026 16:49

@ERthree thats a brilliant response 🤣🤣

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 26/03/2026 16:51

My eldest teen is addicted to watching TikTok rubbish at full volume sped up so there’s incessant background fast talking until I tell them to
turn it off or go into another room

TheKateColumbo · 26/03/2026 16:56

People who take tiny shortcuts saving about three second so a path ends up being worn in the grass when there is a perfectly decent non muddy foot path just centimetres away.
People who put dirty dishes in the sink.
People who order a bacon sandwich then have open it and use their fingers to dissect the fatty bacon.
People who say pots when I would say pan. Mumsnetters are always making huge pots of soup, chilli or ragu it’s probably me who’s in the wrong and it is a pot not a pan but I don’t care!
People who spell Weetabix, chilli as in con carne and telly wrong.
People who post “I asked ChatGPT and then post a really long AI post”

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 26/03/2026 17:00

People who quote the whole, often lengthy, OP in responses. We've all read the OP! We know what you are commenting on! Especially when multiple posters do it in the same thread! Can they not just say "in response to the OP" if they think there is doubt?

Newsenmum · 26/03/2026 17:01

when you get a missed call and they dont leave a voicemail or text

ClippyMuldoon · 26/03/2026 17:02

When I order the next book in a series and get sent one from a different edition. No no no.

This one is for the haitch and gotten haters - I can't stand the word 'Mummy'. It sounds twee and grating to my no doubt uncouth Irish ears. See also tummy, poorly, horrid, 'bless' and 'oh my days' (shudder). 😁
