To buy this ski suit?

I am going skiing and although a pretty ‘normal’ dresser I do LOVE bright colours/retro on occasion.

Are these ski suits amazing, or am I in need of an intervention? I love this one and hovering over ‘checkout’!

I have one - bought off Vinted! Super comfy and fun, wouldn’t pay full price though. They aren’t very padded so fine if it’s warm, you’ll need layers under if it’s cold. No issue when you stop, just take your arms out and tie them round your waist.

Ooh how did you find the sizing please?

I’m swaying towards ordering one and then seeing what I think when it’s here. YOLO!

And I’m def not looking to attention seek - I just like bright things! They make me happy!

I’m a 12-14 and got a medium

welshweasel · 06/03/2026 22:09

Also who cares if someone thinks you’re attention seeking? Skiing is exactly the place to wear bright stuff - I insist my kids wear orange so I can see them on the slopes.

Ballaz · 06/03/2026 22:23

Ahh ignore the Debbie downers, I have one of these and I love it! If you can’t be bright and bold on a ski slope where can you. Plus easy for friends and family to spot you!

I found mine in TK Maxx for £90 which remains the best bargain of my life - had been planning to pay full price for one! On sizing, I’m a 14 and tall and the XL fits nicely.

Gagamama2 · 06/03/2026 22:29

If I was mid-20s and still doing ski seasons I’d get it as I know I’d rock it. Now I’m 40 I’m not sure…it’s very snow bunny 😂😂.

i think bright colours / prints work fine on snow gear, esp when they give vintage Rodeo ski gear from the 90s lol. It’s not rhe fabric so much as the fact it’s a onesie…you have to have a lot of confidence / be wearing it in a slightly ironic way imo to pull off a onesie. If this fabric was in a big steezy jacket instead I’d be all over it! Maybe google vintage / retro inspired ski jackets and see what comes up

TwoeightTwoeightTwoOhhhh · 06/03/2026 23:47

Well you’ll be giving mountain rescue a fighting chance of finding you if wander off piste or get caught in an avalanche… they will certainly see you at a distance. safety first!

And if you love it get it!

Appleblum · 07/03/2026 01:11

It's so cool! Get it! It would certainly help me spot you from meters away.

SexIsNotNebulous · 07/03/2026 05:53

If you’re not a great skier don’t buy it, if this is your first time definitely don’t buy it.

The last thing you want to do is stand out on the slopes if you are shit. I know, I’ve skied for years and I’m still shit.

Every year there are people on the nursery runs with all the gear and no idea, spending more time on their Instagram shots than skiing. It’s wonderful people watching fodder though when you’re having an Aperol.

Riverflow6 · 07/03/2026 06:32

Get it! Skiing is for fun!!

Downplayit · 07/03/2026 06:40

I saw some pictures of Sara Davis (Dragons Den) skiing over 1/2 term and she looked like she was wearing an Oosc suit. She wore it very well and looked fab even though I'm not a fan of the colours and design. Hot for a spring ski trip though!

manysausages · 07/03/2026 07:43

I love bright, bold and a bit different but this ski suit isn’t flattering even on the model. You can do better.

taybert · 07/03/2026 07:47

Where are you going skiing? Squat toilets (Italy) wearing separate ski wear created a significant challenge for me at half term, an all in one would’ve been a nightmare!

I'm a shit skier and the one thing that makes me feel good on the slopes and at apres is knowing how fabulous my outfit looks.

chalkyc2 · 07/03/2026 07:57

I saw at least 2 people wearing the rainbow version of this in France this year. Anything goes and if you love it buy it!

Needspaceforlego · 07/03/2026 08:17

I like what it looks like however one piece suits just aren't that practical. I never even put my tots in them.
Toilets, being able to remove jacket for lunch, being able to wear jacket separately travelling and going round the resort.

CatherinedeBourgh · 07/03/2026 08:18

It's great and I'd love it if someone in my party had one (everyone is required at least one bright thing - makes them easy to find!) BUT having worn a one piece suit before I never would again.

Gagamama2 · 07/03/2026 08:36

Even the model has a gunt in this ski suit 😂😂 not a great look.

maybe if you size up a couple of sizes you could get rid of it, but this thing needs to be worn baggy. Esp as a beginner - you will likely be skiing with your butt sticking out

RattleAndHump · 07/03/2026 08:49

I’d never buy an all in one. Often, sitting outside in the sun, it isn’t cold enough to need a padded jacket, and it can get quite warm when you are active. We go for layers with a neoprene jacket these days. Getting that lot off to have a wee would be a nightmare, and I spend an awful lot of time adjusting boots and skis; I bet it would pull around the crutch when you bend over.

Thatsalineallright · 07/03/2026 08:52

It's handy to be visible on the slopes - stops idiots bumping in to you and helps your group spot you easily.

welshweasel · 07/03/2026 09:00

@RattleAndHumpi had the same concerns but found it more comfy than a two piece - no crotch pulling and no digging in after a large lunch! If I was hot when we stopped I just took my arms out and tied them round my waist. Then just treat as trousers for the loo. I took my two piece with me in case I found it annoying but didn’t wear it, and won’t bother when I go at Easter.

SpringIsSpringing2026 · 07/03/2026 09:04

I wouldn't buy an all in one.

as almost everyone has said, going to the toilet is a nightmare & the flexibility heat wise is better with separates.

plus personally I'm much more fond of better quality, subtle colours.

surely vinted or ebay etc are full of second hand ski suits now? I wouldn't want it if it was fee, let alone that price.

as you're a beginner who may never go again, just borrow one.

igiveuptrying · 07/03/2026 09:05

Friend has one - wore it last weekend and had 2 people come up to say they loved it

JanBlues2026 · 07/03/2026 09:35

My DH is a boarder and I have bought him a couple of similar ski suits the last few years, he got loads of compliments and people asking where they could buy one! They are back in fashion even with boarders!

Paaseitjes · 07/03/2026 10:28

What a load of miseries on this thread! It's a holiday which should be fun even if you're a beginner, including kit. Do you all only buy black bikinis and beach wear too in case you draw attention to your imperfect front crawl? And the comments about looking like a Brit, no surer way than wearing boring kit to say this holiday is a bit too expensive for me, I only ski once every other year and I'm scared of being out of fashion in 10 years so I'll buy black. Everyone who skis multiple times a year has at least one fun outfit because they'll get wear out of it! Some days you just want to do a few runs and have a drink.

WellErrr · 07/03/2026 11:00

Thanks so much, I have taken on all points made BUT ultimately I have not only ordered the suit, I have also ordered the matching sweatband!

My family will definitely not lose me! Unless they want to..? 🤔

The resort is in the French Alps, I think it’s a naice one so not sure if that makes it better or worse. I’ll also take a black 2 piece that a friend lent to me, in case it turns out I have in fact badly misjudged this. Not likely!!

DH said ‘who do you think you are, the Fresh Prince? You are joking aren’t you?’ when I showed him, so he will have an amazing surprise on day one! 🤣🤣
