Why should she?
Moral compass.
Peace of mind.
Decency.
So that she can look herself in the mirror.
So that in the future when history has had a bit of time to cogitate on what Trump has done she can look her child in the face and say I wasn't a part of that.
So that the when her child asks her
Because the God she constantly praises on Instagram is pretty clear on lying, pride, loving thy neighbour and murder.

Exactly what point are you trying to argue here? KL is absolutely awful, not to mention complicit. There is NO excuse.

Not according to the bible she repeatedly quotes. It's quite clear.

Also there are fundamental, universal morals that most people hold as a standard - fairness, care for others, and empathy - she's short on those as is her boss Trump.

Interested to hear your answer to @Lemonfrost 's question.

You are so woefully ill educated that I can’t justify my time in pasting links to the quantity of evidence illustrating that it is men who are responsible for starting the vast, vast majority of wars.

Please never express your ‘white feather theory’ in public. It is mortifyingly infantile.

Ok. You carry.on living in your sanctimonious bubble.

You "can't justify your time" just means that you are.closed to any dispute about the veracity of your opinion.

Sad really, because that's how wars start, when people with rigid views are not prepared to talk.

You confuse "men" with "leaders". But I imagine the concept of subsets is too much of a nuance for you.

She's young, she's fierce, she's telling the truth every single day.

President Trump put her there because she gets it: America First means fighting for the American people delivering historic wins, record tax refunds.
The critics They're melting down because they can't handle a strong smart woman who refuses to back down.

She's a working mom, a woman of faith, and she's balancing it all. That's leadership. That's strength.

Oh dear. The MAGA cat's out the bag now, isn't it?

ThatPearlkitty · 05/03/2026 23:00

What's wrong with wanting the best for your own country? Isn't the UK the same?

How many of you are saying we shouldn't help people in Dubai just because they chose to avoid taxes in the UK?

How is that not simply your own people wanting to put the UK first?
So what's the real difference here?

Newsflash - Trump does not care about anything but himself, and has damaged the USA's reputation and global standing almost beyond repair. It's 2026 and we live in a global society. NO country can truly go it alone anymore.

And how many countries used America when it suited them instead of spending on their own countries defence and military ?

There have been wars throughout human history. Of course, we don't like them but, after all these thousands of years, we do need to accept that they are completely normal.

I think there was a time, maybe late 90s and early 2000s where things were improving. I mean I know that even then things weren't perfect and we had quite a few places with civil war but on the whole it seemed like there was an upward trent and the world was becoming a more peaceful and liberal place. I was much younger then so maybe I was just naturally more optimistic and hopeful.

I do think that there is one big difference now. If you think back to even the war in Iraq, even though it was probably illegal and carried out under extremely dodgy circumstances the us and the UK did try at least to make their case to the UN and convince the international community of the lawfulness of their plans. Now we are in a situation where Israel and the US (or Russia) just do whatever they fancy and they purposefully make it very clear that they don't care about international law. They don't even try to half heartedly convince anyone that their attacks are in any way justified. I think that is very worrying. We are going back to a time of emperors with unbridled power. With absolutely nothing to check their power.

Well, apart from changing the word ‘humanity’s’ to ‘men’s’, I heartily agree with your post.

I think it is a shame that a discussion about the global situation was diverted a few posts in to become one about men being the problem.

I work in an international school with students and staff from affected countries. Their discussions about this never include comments about it being men involved and not women.

Russia’s invasion is horrendous not only for Ukrainians but for thousands of young Russians sent to die every week. They don’t want that either.

On international law it is better at protecting states than people which means Iran can act with impunity. It’s been decades of oppression and nothing can be done due to those laws. Friedrich Merz has pointed out the inadequacy,

The sad part is whilst we post on mumsnet and SM generally Iranian women can’t even do that. They are closed off and can’t say we are more important. Hopefully they can join the conversation soon.

With absolute respect for your opinion, I too work with many people (mostly women) from the affected countries who are very clear on who they blame for the incessant war mongering.

However, opinions are inevitably anecdotal, and so I would always prefer to look at research based evidence.

These warmongers all have wife's. Are they unable to have any influence on them at all? I could not live with myself, if I was married to any of these Men.

I’m sure Melania is full of sense and compassion…

I am not saying we shouldn’t blame men but the conversation is not about what is happening but about how bad men are.

it seems part of our dna is trying to control others then when that fails its war etc

I think this is because it is a survival instinct. Those with the most resources survived. Evolutionally we have just started to have farming and abundance. Our biology hasnt caught up yet. As always though, some people are evil for evils sake.

Yeah well now they're being bombed by one regime while being closed off by their own. Great!
Hopefully they can join the conversation soon if they survive. And no, diaspora, not you living in Los Angeles for 50+ years, dreaming of a return to shah days... I want to hear from the women who are actually fighting for their survival in Iran. I'd love to hear their take on America's and Israel's operation Epic Fury. The US Evangelical Fundamentalists' crusade is riding in at dawn to save the day for Iranian women by starting with the bombing of a girls' school. Don't worry folks, Armageddon is coming and Jesus, sponsored by our good friend Lockheed Martin, is returning. I bet Iranian women are filled with hope.🙄
Yes, their regime is shit. I don't know what the solution is but I know what the solution isn't: operation Epic Fury, Trump, and Bibi.
Fuck me. Those two clowns are the guys you run from if you see them in a dark alley. Trump is no one's saviour.

Yes that’s what I said let’s hear from the women there. For that the brutal regime needs to stop oppressing or killing anyone who dissents.
