Someone keeps blocking me in my parking and says I just need to ask to get in or out and I can’t expect not to be blocked in
the police disagree with them and agree with me that I am fully entitled to be able to get access to the road
however there doesn’t seem to be an actual solution to prevent them parking behind me in the first place

any bright ideas? Bollards of course won’t work as they’re parking on the road (well, turning circle)

Too vague. If blocked in your own driveway then say so. Please.

parkingagain25 · 03/03/2026 18:14

Sorry I should say I have
asked politely
lost my shit totally
and everything in between

It’s a space, not a drive but it’s set off the road like a driveway. Sorry wasn’t meaning to be vague

We need a diagram. This is to vague.

easysundaytea · 03/03/2026 18:15

Diagram?

roseymoira · 03/03/2026 18:15

Missing all the details!

parkingagain25 · 03/03/2026 18:16

You've already involved the police, who say this person cannot block you in.
The person is still blocking you in.

Call the police every, single, time.
Escalate this continual harassment to the police (so moved from traffic to whatever department deals with harassment / antisocial behaviour).

Is the neighbour a tenant? If so you could escalate to the landlord.

You could look into a private prosecution for harassment too. Do you have legal cover on your home insurance?

I escalated to their landlord who offered meditation Confused
they’re also abusive/aggressive/unpleasant so I do have to tread slightly carefully
the police have a word, it stops for a bit then starts again. Same pattern for well, 19 years now
if I’m not at home they park in my space as well and I have to ask them to move get the fuck out of it

I'd ask if the police would look at it as harassment if there's a history of it.

Stompythedinosaur · 03/03/2026 18:26

And I'd call the police and landlord every single time it happened. Make it their problem too.

The other issue is the aggressiveness - I have to see them daily so I’m trying to be vaguely ok as last time I went nuclear it was really bad and I ended up on edge if I will be able to get to work/come home etc

Annoyingly I would struggle as it’s council and a pain to get through! I would have to ring them almost daily Sad

I’m really concerned for my car or I would

it fucks me off that there is parking but they can’t possibly walk the 5 metres. I’m tired with a shit load of health conditions and have the attitude I’m not asking for much
they think I’m being demanding and as it’s not an actual driveway it doesn’t matter at all

WTF - you just need to ask ! For something they shouldn't be doing Shock
Does Idiot Car Driver have a drive/parking bay or is their parking meant to be in the road

This bit could be complicated!
they visit a house that has a driveway which happens to be next to my space. HOWEVER they appear to have possibly moved in
the people who live in the house, and the visitor both are of the same opinion ridiculous aggressive attitude

Oh and it’s not parked as such, it’s literally abandoned in the cul de sac, blocking the entire turning circle

Meditation or mediation? Either way, I'd accept because it will cost them and they can't fob you off again.

Coupled with parking there yourself and blocking your own, empty drive.

FFS I can’t spell today. Mediation. Which I refused to attend as they wouldn’t let anyone go with me and they’re so aggressive. I also said I don’t need mediation, I need them to stop blocking me in

You need to go. They probably won't turn up and if they do, you can take great satisfaction in wasting their time.

They might not let anyone in woth you but that doesn't stop someone waiting outside and if they are aggressive in the mediation, it will be noted and escalated

I would get a few neighbours together and shift the car out of the way, he will get the hint then the fucker.

if hes with the council you need to put in a complaint about anti social behaviour.

So it's not your driveway, but is it your dedicated parking space, or are others allowed to use it?

Already done, and a solicitors letter. Did nothing at all
the best I’ve got is maybe a years peace and then it gets worse than ever
I have just emailed my management company (they don’t have one, even longer story) to see if they can suggest anything

problem is say if my management company do something, it’s like poking a sleeping lion and it makes things worse

i have tried “with my job I need access 24/7, please could you kindly…” to “can you stop being a fucking twat and shift your car”
