Someone keeps blocking me in my parking and says I just need to ask to get in or out and I can’t expect not to be blocked in
the police disagree with them and agree with me that I am fully entitled to be able to get access to the road
however there doesn’t seem to be an actual solution to prevent them parking behind me in the first place

any bright ideas? Bollards of course won’t work as they’re parking on the road (well, turning circle)

Put a large note on the windscreen every time. Stick it in the windscreen with Vaseline.

So it's not your driveway, but is it your dedicated parking space, or are others allowed to use it?

Mine solely. I own it, it’s on the deeds, it comes with my home

I would:
-get a penguin bollard so they can’t park in your space when you are out
-ring the police every time they block you in or steal your space
-keep a diary of all of the block ins and space stealing, to show the landlord and police. Have you got any legal advice about the situation?
-decline the mediation. What is there to mediate?! It’s your space legally and they keep on using it / blocking you in it. Who cares if they don’t like it?! They need to rent / buy a properly with parking. Or rent a parking space. Plus mediation isn’t advised if one party is abusive

Also according to my dad I’m not allowed to
have an alarm that says get back you bastards
put a brick through their windscreen
buy an army tank to block them in
pay someone to sit in a deckchair and refuse to move

personally I think he’s the unreasonable one Grin

Perfect!

Sounds like the landlord is suggesting mediation to fob you off. It’s not your fault his tenant is antisocial and selfish

Don't put anything on the windscreen or window that could obscure their vision. Even though Vaseline isn't glue , if it gets on their wipers and smears can you imagine the mess it will make when it rains . Why put innocent people at risk .

Same goes for nails under their tyres and writing on the window with lipstick .

If the vehicle is abandoned in a cul-de-sac can it get towed for obstructing traffic?

Rollercoaster1920 · 03/03/2026 21:40

The council at landlords aren't helping control their tenant? That's what your council's complaints process is for.
And your local councillor.

But they are abusive and threatening so get a camera to record the street, or don't engage and move.

MauriceTheMussel · 03/03/2026 21:54

Could you park where they park when they block you in so you’re basically stealing their parking space?! And in such a way that they then can’t park in your designated space?

gotta meet petty with petty

I can’t record unfortunately as it’s not near my home

I could but annoyingly most of this is happening at times when I can’t! So I’ll be trying to leave for work and I’m blocked in, or getting home from work and blocked out/or they’re in my space

Annoyingly 1 doesn’t have a car, 1 isn’t occupied and the way the spaces are staggered the third one isn’t blocked iN. Or I would have roped them in on my one woman mission
