Jean Hachet posted this today. Men going door to door in Sheffield looking for people who aren't boycotting Israel. The man grabbed one of the women by throat and headbutted her when challenged. Feels like something out of the 1930s

Jean Hatchet (@JeanHatchet) on X

There was a Jew hunt door to door in Woodseats Sheffield. We ended it within 15 mins because they didn’t like “Jew Hunt” shouting at them. They were collecting addresses of the non-supportive. The man in blue took our sign and then had Lightning Le...

I saw the clip on him bumping the camper lense with his head. I can't in good grace call that a headbutt.

What was his intention, if not a headbutt?

Oh dear, has Hatchet gone completely far right now too?

What’s making you think she’s gone far right? Calling out racism is not far right, so I’m confused.

@Kimura who are these men representing? What did their leaflets say? Are they a political party? It matters because it may give us a code of conduct and management of data policy to look at...

This is the leaflet/poster they were handing out.

I actually couldn't give a flying fk about Israel or Palestine or any other god forsaken place thousands of miles away.

I've actually been to Israel and the West Bank... Which is more than can be said for these lefty cucks.

I care about the UK and British people only and I'll die on that hill

This! What do they think they’ll achieve banging on about Israel and Palestine? We have no influence over what either country does. It’s just a cheap excuse to publicly launder antisemetic sentiment and make Jewish people feel unsafe in their homes. It’s disgusting!

As someone without a dog in this fight - I'm a bit confused - What do you mean by, they were "looking for people who aren't boycotting Israel?" I haven't seen anything to suggest that's the case. They were canvassing and giving out leaflets from the looks of things.

People are allowed to go door to door political canvassing, even people you don't like.

All I can see in the videos on twitter are a second group of people approaching them, shouting 'Jew hunt' and disrupting whatever it was they were doing, and presumably trying to get a reaction out of them for social media.

The woman clearly initiates the the brief physical interaction, and I haven't seen anybody 'grabbed by the throat' or headbutted.

The man in the glasses clearly states to the woman when questioned that they're canvassing support for Palestine, which they have every right to do. She she asks if they're recording addresses and again, he clearly states that they knock on every door and note the people who don't want to speak to them so they don't bother them again, like anybody going door-to-door does.

To frame that as a 'Jew hunt' or claim that they were 'gathering addresses of people who aren't boycotting Israel' is a gross misrepresentation. The pro-Palestine group were confronted by a second group of people shouting, filming and attempting to move them on and reacted as anyone would.

I'm clearly missing something because people are calling them brown shirts, when anyone with eyes in their head can see who instigated that confrontation. Are there more videos?

I respect the right to counter-protest, but this wasn't a protest, it was doorstep canvassing. I have a very low opinion of groups who to try to outright silence those they disagree with. It makes me wonder what they don't want people to hear.

And turning up mob handed to confront people, then trying to spin it as them being violent towards you, is pathetic behavior.

I find it interesting no one is commenting on this excellent summary and is just jumping on the bandwagon. Very interesting.

Terrifying that people are actually going door to door asking people to boycott Israel. We've all seen those hate marches and now that comes to your house. Awful.

Canvassing people is not an act of hate. It is an invitation for others to take a moral stance against the current Israeli government. I was shocked to discover that the Palestinian dates I had been buying were actually Israeli dates grown on land stolen from Palestinians. In fact, around 60% are.

And coming to my door, getting me to come face to face with three men, and noting down my response to them is a massive invasion of my privacy in my opinion.

These people would not be welcome at my doorstep under any circumstances, let alone canvassing in favour of a specific position on Israel / Palestine.

Agree. Someone upthread posted a picture of the flyers being distributed.
I certainly wouldn’t want someone coming to my door, trying to impose one of these on me and then noting down my address if I declined.

Canvassing for what. Its highly sensitive and political subject. Many people are horrified and frightened by the hate marches that symbolise the Palestinian cause. Its something happening a long way away that we have no influence over so absolutely pointless to go house to house telling strangers what your thoughts on the topic are. Im far more concerned about Jews being frightened in the UK.

VashtaNerada · 16/02/2026 05:55

How can it be a Jew hunt when plenty of Jewish people are also boycotting Israeli goods? I think it’s a bit more complicated than that.

Except they really aren’t.

Clefable · 16/02/2026 09:31

Is this going to turn into one of these threads where any negative comment around Israel brands the poster anti-Semitic so any actual nuanced discussion gets stifled?

I don’t have an issue with it, there is a genocide occurring, it seems like the ideal sort of time to be putting leaflets around! Or is this also another thread where we conveniently ignore that more than 70,000 people in Palestine have been killed (80% civilians btw).

If Jews are frightened in the UK because of the atmosphere round the Pro Palestinian marches (which started while the massacre was going on remember) why continue to force the issue at people in their own homes. Its bizarre. Its not as if people don't watch the news or are unable to make their own minds up. Just because you wouldn't mind someone coming to your house to discuss the issue doesnt mean it wouldnt terrify someone else.

MoistVonL · 16/02/2026 09:37

I'm not sure that video shows what Jean claims it shows.

She and her friend were following the three men shouting "Jew Hunt" and seemed to be initiating the physical contact. That said, it's Jean, and she could start a fight in an empty room, so it's on brand for her.

I think the rise in antisemitism is really scary, I am just not sure this is as clear a case as she claims.

I thought the same thing. It's a gathering of pitchforks not common sense unfortunately. In 2026 people are asking others to oppose apartheid(as determined by the International Criminal Court), shocking stuff.

LovesLabradors · 16/02/2026 09:45

YANBU - if these idiots came to my door, I'd slam it in their faces.
I cannot believe this crap going on in the UK - frankly it makes me want to buy more Israeli goods.

DyslexicPoster · 16/02/2026 09:47

Unless it's election time and people are clearly really from the party they say they are, why would you engage? They could be anyone? I'd just say I don't talk to cold callers and shut the door. Missing the point probably but what if they was asking if vote reform? There are pro and anti and you would want to know why and who's asking with what motives

I don’t agree with encouraging people to boycott Israel on their doorsteps (though neither do I buy Israeli goods), but I also despise when UKIP or Reform post their shit through my door. That’s the price of free speech and canvassing, so I just recycle it.

The pitchfork carriers being the people going door to door making a note of those that dont agree with them (rather than a note of those that do support them which would seem to me be rather more useful....?)

Of course they have a right to do this, but I think knocking on doors to do so feels confrontational and they could have a stall in the street and allow people to engage or not. These movements have excavated a a lot of anti-semitism (which is not the same as saying everyone who supports Palestine or campaigns against Israel is anti-Semitic). But come on, why don’t these educated and privileged men use their brains? I do boycott Israeli produce and I still don’t think this is the right thing to do.

Many of these "muh Palestine" lots are beta lefty boomer males who vote lib dem and live in nice areas with no immigrants.

Self loathing cucks.

The Jeremy Corbyn archetype 😆

You sound like a rational, well-educated individual.

Putting a leaflet through someone’s door is not the same as ringing the doorbell, trying to engage in conversation and say you’ll make a note of those who aren’t interested.

LivingTheThighLife · 16/02/2026 09:56

For most of my life as someone born in the UK, my Jewishness has been a secondary background to my Britishness. I’m not religious so I was very much Jew-ish. I didn’t really have a view on Israel - it was just another foreign country far away, nothing to do with me.
But since 7th October everything changed
Because now my Jewishness is what everyone sees. My children are bullied at school. We are all told that we are murderers unless we publicly and continuously disavow Jews who are grieving. International Holocaust Memorial Day was disrupted by false claims of ‘they do it too’.
So now I finally see what my parents were on about… I need Israel - all of us do, even the stealth Jews. Because there are people in this country who would happily see all of us dead or at least gone. To them we will never be British.
And so finally I see what my ancestors saw, that a Jewish state is the only safe place to go. I’m not leaving yet but I am grateful that I know I can.

So, anti-semites congratulations, you radicalised a peaceful left-wing human rights activist because when you go door to door looking for my children, I have no other choice but to fight back.

Am Yisrael Chai
