Lovely pic but what about the black tarmac blob

I just wonder what the point of getting rid of such small amount of greenery was?

Does it really save on maintenance??!!

Could at least have put bricks in!

I think that that shows that it has been done thoughtlessly & on the cheap.

It's certainly not insta worthy!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/02/2026 20:31

Carandache18 · 15/02/2026 20:22

You destroyed the garden and painted it with black and grey. The bathroom with the grubby grouting is particularly bad.

I think that's just black grouting rather than actually grubby?

Look at the left hand wall though ... the tiles have been put on so unevenly that's another job that'll have to be re-done Shock

BoarBrush · 15/02/2026 20:34

A family home with hardly any usable kitchen worktop, what a fucking waste.

Piknik · 15/02/2026 20:24

pic didn't post

That is nice!!

BatchCookBabe · 15/02/2026 20:35

Have to say, who on EARTH thinks that ripping out the garden(s) and replacing them with gravel and tarmac was a good idea? Who would advise this? Seriously?!

Aluna · 15/02/2026 20:36

Piknik · 15/02/2026 20:12

It's all a bit grey crushed velvet-core... Cold and a bit outdated. I get that the bathrooms are swanky and stylish and I am sure your instagram looks great, but you have massively missed the mark outside. It is a bungalow so make it pretty outside. It doesn't have to be super modern or to your taste - just attractive. Then inside you need some rugs and soft furnishings to try and combat the coldness. This might not be to your taste but it would be cheap/quick and more appealing....

You could also do the wood in stone colour to match the cladding.

I think the inside is lovely, well the carpets are awful, and as pp have said it's hard to imagine it as a home without any furniture. Get rid of that desk in the living room. I have spent about a year looking for a bungalow and one of the most appealing things about a bungalow for me is that usually they have a good size plot with an established garden or the potential to create a lovely garden. You need a garden. A proper one not some awful astro. You need to do something about the front too, it looks very odd. Edited to add I have just seen the before photos and the front of the house looked better then than now.

Blarn · 15/02/2026 20:37

I like the colour bricks, really common building material around Wiltshire. It looks a bit off against the wood paneling painted black though, thar needs to be a lighter colour. But not grey.

Some of the decor isn't to my taste. The fully tiled bathroom, black taps, dark grey carpets, dark windows, but someone else would like those. I'm looking to buy now and when I see that dark grey on all the woodwork on a house I get really annoyed with the thought of having to paint over it all! It was a trend that has thankfully passed.

Painting the staircase a lighter, warmer colour would instantly help. As would weeding the garden and planting along the front. Lavenders all along would look beautiful there and you would still get greenery in winter. The semi circle in the front garden that is covered up with tarmac really needs digging up and some grass or plants put there instead. It's so harsh and unwelcoming as it is.

It needs photos if the garden so people can see what they are dealing with because all I can see through the windows is a falling down fence and what appears to be tarpaulin all over the ground?

The photos are terrible. I can't even see a hob in the kitchen. Would a table fit in? Better phots and more of them would really help so people can see the whole house.

BatchCookBabe · 15/02/2026 20:27

Haha, you wouldn't get into the garage. 😆 Apart from that it looks quite nice there.

Chatgpt have refused to allow access to the garage
I will complain 🤣🤣

Nice choice of plants at the front there !

You see OP should have just asked mumsnetters before she started
😇

TroysMammy · 15/02/2026 20:39

I had a look at previous photos on Zoopla house prices. Although there was swirly carpet, it looked much better. The green kitchen won't be to hardly anyone'severyone's taste. The ripped up garden, big mistake.

Aluna · 15/02/2026 20:36

That looks perfect, nailed it!

I’ve just noticed this as well, I’ve street viewed the entire street and the property isn’t on that road.

You're right, it's on an entirely different road, the actual address is 55 Sutton Park, Broad Blunsdon, Swindon SN26 7BA

Dragonscaledaisy · 15/02/2026 20:42

ghostyslovesheets · 15/02/2026 17:25

You ripped out the baby blue bathroom 🥺

That was hideous

Bunnycat101 · 15/02/2026 20:43

I honestly think you’ll have to do some more work to undo some of the things you’ve done OP. While the old listing was dated, you could see the potential of some of the room sizes and I actually prefer the old kitchen. It feels like you’ve tried to bake in a big price increase while having spent money on the things that don’t necessarily add value. The front of the house doesn’t work at the moment and needs planting or softening. The kitchen looks cheaper than before and I was very confused by what looked like an open bathroom on page 2. I spent ages looking at the plan and it still makes me think it’s a toilet without a door. The view of the broken fence and weeds on page 12 is also an issue.

Mintteaplease · 15/02/2026 20:43

Outside I would paint the wall so it looks fresh and clean and pressure wash outside areas. I would put some pots of flowers and plants around the door. For the indoor photos turn on the lights and have a few vases of daffodils etc dotted around x

That bathroom was lovely! Coloured bathrooms are coming back.

BatchCookBabe · 15/02/2026 20:48

OP has disappeared. 🙈

rainbowsandraspberrygin · 15/02/2026 20:49

How are people seeing “before” photos??

OP I think for a quick fix could you add some bright plants in pots to the front of the house and add some colour to the rest of the rooms. Brighter towels, some soft rugs etc. it’s all very bland and dark. Then get the photos re taken with a decent brighter filter?

when I look at houses one of the first photos I look at is the garden so I would discount yours on the basis of no garden pic.

They are. The monochrome and square look is very dated.

Old listing. (From 2023.) Can't believe how it's changed so spectacularly in less than 3 years!

They are. The monochrome and square look is very dated.

They really do. Monochrome/everything grey looks so 5 years ago.

beAsensible1 · 15/02/2026 20:51

You can do the bog standard grey and laminate for somewhere like this it doesn’t work. The renovation style doesn’t works it’s too cold. The flooring colour doesn’t work it looks dark and low.

there’s too many different styles
in the bathroom. Tart up the front yard and add some colour. It need furniture to make sense of the space. It’s too white box to properly conceptualise

a frank Lloyd wright aesthetic would’ve worked wonders here.

PamelaJean · 15/02/2026 20:52

I couldn't afford it, but if I did have that budget I wouldn't want a pea green dated kitchen in the middle of an otherwise really modern house. Kitchen looks very out of place. Also if the property has a garden, needs pictures of it, whatever state it's in.
