He has presented cricket and horse racing I think for the BBC, so is slowly becoming part of the sports team. He played professionally cricket I think and possibly semi pro football? He’s young, does the social media bit, so it’s about bringing in younger viewers i think.

Also, Gabby is very much summer Olympics to me/athletics…did she do the worlds in September? I can’t remember.

Also with her promotion to MoTD regular and being the face of the six nations I very much suspect that’s why she isn’t part of the coverage as I said . I may well be wrong though.

Either way I’m very much enjoying this coverage! Hazel Irvine always commentates so well on these things! Her London 2012 commentary was awesome (I didn’t watch the tv coverage live as I was there! What a night that was!). And awesome to see that John Hunt is part of coverage after everything that has happened in his life. I’m hoping he’s part of the wider commentary team!

Yes. I know you’ve ventured over to the main one but I saw the OC three times live all in all, twice before it happened! Took me a while to work out what was happening as it’s always impossible without commentary! Like wtf did mr bean have to do with it…😂😂🤦‍♀️!

i feel ours was far less bonkers than this one and Tokyo and Paris though! In the end I did figure ours out a lot! Even though the Americans thought isambard kingdom brunel was Abraham Lincoln!! Like why the eff would we do a whole segment on the Industrial Revolution and use Abraham Lincoln as the face of it!! I still can’t listen to the music without crying!

Gonna be picky but the BBC hasn’t covered horse racing since 2012, ITV has it now but you’re right he sometimes does the social media coverage for them.

Caliban’s Dream by Underworld from 2012 OC is still one of my favourite pieces of music to this day. I can’t listen to it without welling up.
