From my work-based glimpses into the occasionally alarming world of celeb PR, and from what we see of the Beckhams, there will not be one single breath drawn on the public stage without it being part of a carefully constructed campaign of damage limitation.
Every social media 'like' that emanates from Beckham HQ - as they know - will be pored over for 'meaning.' There will have been long, long sessions of how to manage the situation. Every single squeak on social media will be orchestrated with an end goal in mind.
I don't actually think they want revenge on their own son, rather VB will be hell-bent on propping up The Brand and emerging as unscathed in the long-term as possible.
Although as my DH asked 'who on earth cares about 'Brand Beckham' anymore?,' and I agree that the whole Beckham Brand thing is a bit 90's/early 2000's. I like a couple of VB's cosmetic lines, but only because they're decent quality: I couldn't care less about 'The Brand.' Her target demographic and 'Brand Beckham' seem rather separate things.
As an aside, I saw VB at Wimbledon a few years ago, and I felt quite sorry for her. She wasn't watching any of the tennis - she spent the entire match posing in really bizarre ways, while DB completely ignored her.
Anyway, none of us really have a clue, do we?
