Why has Cruz liked the dancing memes?

Bangbangtothebeatofthedrum · 21/01/2026 22:38

Yes, I know I’m over invested šŸ˜‚

Apparently Cruz Beckham has been liking a few of the VB dancing joke videos/memes on Ig

Does this seem odd?

The dance has been mentioned numerous times from the date of the wedding. You must have been living under a rock to not have heard about iit.All phones were taken from guests on the day so obviously just people talking but apparently nicola and brooklyn have the only footage and I hope they release it in the face of continued PR stunts from the Beckhams to try and bury them. Fat Tony was the DJ at the wedding and his husband that accompanied him released a statement on insta saying that what brooklyn said about the dance was true, he witnessed it and well done for him finally speaking out. That says a lot.

I don't believe Fat Tony said that. For one thing, he's a friend of Victoria's.

Official press at the wedding was Vogue. See here, Vogue 2022:

Happy Tears, Midnight Fries, And Fatherly Advice From David: Inside The Peltz Beckham Wedding

But for many guests (myself included), the culinary experience peaked at the after-party, when a Wendy’s food truck pulled up to serve cheeseburgers, fries and chicken nuggets, writes Derek Blasberg in the June 2022 issue of British Vogue.

It’s an orchestrated fight back.

They plan to bury him and humiliate him. Very sad the hatred runs so deep in this family.

BB will be punished for this by the chief narc getting his flying monkeys go put the boot in for him whilst he keeps his nose clean to make more ££££.

DB response was despicable. Own goal.

As someone who’s gone NC with my own parents I think if he was big enough to start this public argument with his family then he’s got to be prepared for a response in return. You can’t just go throwing accusations like this around for the world to read then expect the Beckhams to take it on the chin. Only Harry gets away with that behaviour because the royal family are not supposed to respond and are expected to just put up with it.

I think the interesting thing will be how many ā€˜friends’ move away from the beckhams and ā€˜side’ with Brooklyn

the briefing against their own son over the last couple of years has been pretty awful

Gloriia · 22/01/2026 08:10

As everyone else has said they're turning it round to laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation.

Must be heartbreaking for VB to have such sick and weird comments made but to seem to laugh at the whole thing publicly at least is possibly the best response.

EnterQueene · 22/01/2026 08:10

Is that a joke? The 'recollections may vary' nonsense is from the queen - the RF are the very definition of closing ranks and throwing someone to the press to devour to protect their own image.

diddl · 22/01/2026 08:31

There’s a rumour that was just a little nuzzle in his neck at the end of the dance

Tbh that sounds awful enough to me!

Sounds a bit terratorial!

EsmaCannonball · 22/01/2026 08:42

ThisIsAGlobalPlayerOriginalPodcast · 22/01/2026 00:27

Am I the only one who cringes when people say ā€œrecollections may varyā€? It’s like because the queen said it they think it’s sooo funny and smart and original.

😬

Bit it's not meant to be original. It was one of those phrases so well-worded and so apt that it has entered the canon of the English language in the same way that 'economical with the truth' or 'tired and emotional' have. This is how a language gets its sayings. This particular one happens to be brilliant because it is polite and totally cutting at the same time.

TrickorTreacle · 22/01/2026 01:56

I voted YABU because you used 'meme' as a throwaway term for something that is forgotten in 5 minutes time.

A meme is meant to be memorable, have a lasting effect e.g. Hampsterdance, Badger Badnger, Harlem Shake, All Your Base, First World Problems, Craiyon, Will It Blend, What Is Love, Dancing Baby, Nyan Cat. Something that can be remembered 20 years later, not 5 minutes later.

Your passionate defence of the meme is really something.

Do you feel they fall more into cultural moment or artistic work category. Genuinely curious. I love when people care about stuff I've never given a thought to.

Brooklyn has said the dance was the worst thing ever to happen in his life. Mocking VB dancing memes doesn’t sound like the most measured or intelligent response.

If that’s the worse thing that’s ever happened to him, he’s led a charmed life šŸ™„

Tbf they are funny šŸ˜‚ it is maybe a bot or not actually him, but if it is he young and probably just stirring.

Thortour · 22/01/2026 08:56

I think the Beckhams have a sense of humour and they’re funny.

Bruisername · 22/01/2026 09:09

I don’t think either has a sense of humour when it comes to themselves though. VB does the self deprecatory humour but purely to be funny. They both have very good masks but I feel the documentaries, hers in particular, showed it

All v Palm Beach.

No doubt a big thing to him - everything’s relative. But IMHO lacks perspective. The worst thing for many people his age is the death of a parent or sibling. Lads I know would give anything for their mum to be there (embarrassingly or otherwise) on their wedding day.

Seems quite teenage. Teens who break up with a first love think it’s the worst thing ever at the time, but older people know that’s how it feels at the time but when you look back on life, there are far worse things. Teens often lack perspective.

And if she was being so inappropriate (maybe a bit drunk) why didn’t he, or someone else (her siblings, parents, David, other sons) tactfully stop her? That’s what’d happen with most families. Would they just all sit there and watch her make a show of herself, filmed for posterity on the wedding video?

Can understand bride being upset if VB introduced as ā€œmost beautiful woman in the roomā€ (if true, totally tactless of MA) and cos dance wasn’t in line with running order. And, wanting perfection as many brides do, rushed out in tears.

If another son’s liked the memes, maybe he can see the funny side. Weddings are like Christmases. Often some sort of drama/upset. Highly stressful time, people seeking perfection in return for their huge effort/spending, combined with tiredness/booze.

Likely to affect his bookings - if his partner spills the tea despite an NDA.

Discretion top priority for big spenders.

It looks disrespectful towards his mother I think. It could certainly be seen that way.

It made me briefly wonder if this drama was staged.

My husband has been saying this whole thing is a staged PR exercise since day 1. He said they’re trying to ape the Royal Family. I doubt it, but the liking memes is kind of weird.

Without Nicola’s knowledge, her mother, Claudia, had asked the seamstresses to sew in an evil eye to protect her on her big day. She also instructed them to use baby-blue thread to discreetly embroider: ā€œNicola, my heart. You are me, I am you...ā€

Whose mother is the overstepper again?

Hanab · 22/01/2026 10:05

Not a fan of celebs, however went in search of VB dancing through the years. Truth be told she is not a natural dancer. It seems a bit far fetched that she danced inappropriately. She did take ballroom dancing with DB. Not the best either. These memes are hilarious tbh. And CB never shy's away from social media. He makes fun of the family and situations.

IceBrownie · 22/01/2026 10:12

As PP commented, these "official" IG accounts aren't managed by them, it's all done by PR firms.

They have private accounts for their personal use.

It's smoke and mirrors.

Its Fat Tony's husband that said it. He was there.

Yes this struck me as absolutely enmeshed and narcissistic toxically weird! And even more weird that none of them can see it and let that go to print!

I think both N & B are from very narcissistic and controlling families but that each have different expectations of their DCs.

All the public shmaltzing of her parents by N is a nose rub and snub to the Beckhams IMHO.

They are just as performative.

The wedding vow renewal stunt was actually quite cruel and nasty no matter the state of the relationships. With Nelson front and centre tells you all you need to know. Of course the can renew their vows but why did it have to be a global media event making the point the Beckhams were not invited? Why would they stain / sour / weaponise their ā€œloveā€ with such antics?

RabbitsEatPancakes · 22/01/2026 11:49

Victoria has never really been a 'dirty' dancer has she? I dont think she would've been grinding or lap dancing on Bb.

'Inappropriate' I think means something different to a Gen Z than a millennial. My younger cousin says we dance too much with our arms and uses completely different language to me. They don't all go to clubs, get wasted and dance to "get low" these days. They all stand around on phones recording themselves. I think he was just embarrassed at her dancing rather than her doing anything that we'd call Inappropriate.

Is this the Peltz family aghast at VB sticking her oar in - NB: leaked wedding texts - keep VB out of loop at all costs.

The vow renewal because the running order disturbed & NP didn’t get her day her way? NP & BB seem to live in a bubble. NP I can understand but BB? All those watches & cars & money & unearned opportunities ladled out. Chickens home to roost? ā€˜The worst thing EVER’ all very Kevin the teen. As you say.

NP to BB perhaps ā€˜the presents were bribes, you are being CONTROLLED even your name’…Almost satire.
