Woman killed by ICE

Womanborn · 08/01/2026 16:19

Many Americans are in shock from the daily assaults on our Constitution, the chicanery, the relentless lawlessness and violence within our borders and abroad; Venezuela, the financing of the genocide in Gaza, the proposed seizure of Greenland, the dehumanization of groups of people, some sent to torture sites. The US massacred Native people and put them on reservations, Japanese Americans were put in concentration camps during WWII. Our government has a homegrown blueprint for abuse of large numbers of people.
It's like living in a house with a violent, drunken abuser with no place to run for help. Congress is weak willed. Both parties are feeding at the trough of insider trading and fortunes from arms manufacturers. Tornadoes, tsunamis, blizzards and wildfires are released one after the other or simultaneously upon the American public.
That poor, frightened woman's last moments on Earth were consumed by an unknown man whose murderous hatred was sanctioned by ICE.

It was meant to address the murder of a woman by ICE and other comments about the disintegration of political and civil society in the US . Sorry that it went to the wrong spot.

It’s continued into another one and there are also ongoing threads about living in America where it’s being discussed.

It really should go without saying that if you attempt to drive a car away when police officers of any kind are in your pathway, have already asked you to stop, and will be hit by your car in your escape, you can’t be surprised if they shoot you.

They have every right to shoot you.

You got shot because you were a fucking idiot endangering their lives.

Lots of people get very upset by these things because lots of people are stupid and gullible and there is an awful lot of money and power wanting them to get upset about these things.

The same money and power that wants those stupid people upset by the flawless arrest of a Communist dictator who was trafficking drugs.

In every instance the proper course of action is to do more of the things that upset the very stupid people, because those are the things protecting the actually innocent people.

So far as the guilty people who drive cars at ICE agents, or traffic drugs into the US, or who violently resist arrest and then have a pretty predictable negative reaction to having swallowed shitloads of drugs, all of them maybe deserve a Darwin Award, but not much else.

Also, I know the people irate about ICE shooting a woman who DROVE HER CAR AT THEM didn’t give a shit when Ashli Babbit (not using a car as a weapon, or anything else as a weapon) was murdered in cold blood for trespass in a public building.

You see, when it comes to rights and use of force of any kind, it sort of matters quite a bit if the person is DRIVING A CAR INTO THE POLICE. Just as when it comes to rights and the use of force it also matters quite a bit if the person arrested is the HEAD OF A FUCKING DRUG CARTEL or a lifelong criminal scumbag.

Have you watched the videos of the incident?

It’s on video! Not just the murder but the aftermath where they deny medical care.

JDV can gaslight all he wants but people have eyes.

Neither of those women should have been shot, both were a tragedy and a failure of systems. Both deaths were a tragedy and highlight the problems with having armed police, some of whom will shoot first and ask questions later. Both women were standing up for something they believed in and neither deserved to die for that.

That said, the killing of Babbit, in the chaos and heightened tension scenario where many people, shouting with murderous intent, were trying to break through a door into the seat of power, cannot be likened to a situation where even I as a non nimble person could have easily moved out of the way of a vehicle which was clearly trying to drive away from me.

They are not the police.

They are ICE. They have jurisdiction over immigration. Not over US citizens.

They cannot stop a vehicle for a traffic violation.

They cannot remove a person from a car because they are blocking a road.

They aren’t police. They are taxpayer funded bounty hunters. For unlawful immigrants.

The orders they issued to a US citizen were unlawful.

frockandcrocs · 08/01/2026 19:56

Driving right at him?! She was very clearly turning.

Apparently the perpetrator is ‘fearing for his life’. Good. Vile, vile piece of work. The lot of them.

Greenmouldycheese · 08/01/2026 19:59

She tried to kill someone. What did you expect them to do?

Does that matter, in the grand scheme of things? The punishment for driving off is not execution. The ICE guy stepped out of the way and was not hurt. So he could have done exactly that and not fired his gun. Shooting her was so obviously not necessary for his safety (and certainly not the second and third shots fired through the driver’s window when he was next to the car). If he genuinely thought it was required, then he does not have the right temperament to be an armed agent.
They could have called the police about her if they felt that was warranted. There were enough of them to act as witnesses and they could easily record her plates if necessary.

Her ex husband has said she was in the area having just dropped her son off at school, and he’s never known her to have any involvement in protests.
(Just in case anyone thinks I’ve got confused because they heard she was a widow, this ex husband is her first husband, the father of her teenagers. Her second husband was the father of the 6 yr old, and he died in the military).

he’s not in the way of the car when he shoots, so I’d expect him not to shoot a woman in the head as there is no immediate danger to him.

FuckKnowsMatee · 08/01/2026 20:10

Greenmouldycheese · 08/01/2026 19:59

Who did she try to kill? I must have missed that. Unless you are referring to the ICE agent who was stood to the side of the vehicle, not in the path of where she was turning?
And as for what I would expect them to do, perhaps shoots the tyres of the vehicle rather than a person because NOTHING in the video footage I’ve seen justifies an execution.

Really scary that people are ok with the ICE agents actions.

Hadalifeonce · 08/01/2026 20:17

I am sure if some random car pulled in front of mine, and masked men jumped out, in the split second I would have to react, I would probably try to drive away too.
