Following on from the toilet roll threads on here today , I googled what is a normal amount of loo rolls a family of four use a week.
It says between 7 and 10 per week , AIBU ?

When Dd lived at home for 3 of us we used a roll a day most days only one bathroom so easy to monitor. Now it’s just me and dh it’s 1-2 rolls a week, nearer 1. So Dd used a lot!

We get through one a day so yes, 7. 2 adults and 5 kids.

Why does your son line the seat? There is no benefit of people laying loo roll on toilet seat. As the paper is porous, your skin is a natural barrier to germs. Unless you have an open wound on your bum.

because he has SEN & OCD & needs it to feel clean/safe.

You need 27 layers of TP to even begin to create a barrier but I won't be telling fidgety's son that!!

I use a roll every couple of days. I have ibs and an irritable bladder to thank.

Not all toilet rolls are equal though. You would get through cheap, small, thin papered toilet rolls much faster than more expensive, thicker, longer rolls.

Women should never criticise toilet roll usage, it's needed especially when we're on..

I'm not even sure how much we use though

Each to their own, but I can't help feeling that it's sometimes more psychological rather than the practicality of how much you actually need/prefer to use.

The PP who said they used one roll per poo... why wouldn't it be 89% of a roll or even 1.18 rolls? Especially considering that toilet rolls vary a lot in size. And what if somebody else had just changed the roll for a new one and then used 6 sheets - surely you wouldn't use the remainder and then 6 sheets of a new one?!

Maybe a part of it is the idea that you just like a new roll each time, rather than actually needing (or even really wanting) to use the whole lot each time?

There are some people that use too much loo roll. Put a new loo roll out earlier in the day and later a (ex) friend came to visit and used the loo. She used a quarter of it in one loo trip.

I just can't imagine noticing how much loo roll a guest used?! Unless it was extreme (as in - bought a 24 pack and that day it'd run out).

maybe she did a runny poo!? Blew her nose a few times as was a bit snotty? Had her period and needed a few wipes?! Honestly 1/4 roll of loo roll really isn't that much.
