Bloody fireworks

Someone is setting off fireworks down my street now. It’s unnecessary.

Then tomorrow it’s NYE, get idiots set fireworks from 2pm to 4am.

It's ridiculous where I live. It'll start at 12 and continue for ages, and my dogs and I will be very upset by it all.

I think short organised/official displays should be enough.
I can't be doing with morons setting them off willy nilly.

I’m with you too. My elderly cat is unwell, I’ve got to keep her stress to a minimum and someone on the estate is letting off fireworks!
Tomorrow at midnight I can prepare for, but 6pm on 30th isn’t acceptable!

I’m so glad they are banned in Australia other than public displays. The poor animals are the ones I really feel for.

They are so loud now, why do they need to be heard miles away? If they’re your bloody fireworks, surely you’re close enough that they don’t need to be like a bomb going off. Hate them.

I don't understand all the people that moan about animals. Things humans do harm animals everyday. Driving cars, road kill, etc etc. how are fireworks any different? There are things you can do to prepare and I know sedation doesn't always work. It doesn't work on my family dog. But I'm not selfish enough to think others should stop their celebrations because of my dog. I have to put up with other people's cats shit in my garden. Get your kid some ear defenders or let them stay up and watch. It's an inconvenience sometimes absolutely. But that's all it is.

if you're so genuinely concerned for your animals welfare, I'd question if you drive and eat meat.

If one wants to make an argument against fireworks, mentioning pets is asking for trouble. Most of the same downsides apply to both. OP is complaining that fireworks are unnecessary, but so are pets. Wider society would manage perfectly well if none of the cats she's worrying about existed.
