Team long haired Ginger here.

But do love a tabby!

Thepeopleversuswork · 25/12/2025 10:50

I’m quite partial to a tabby too but nothing tops a ginger tabby.

More beautiful cat pictures please!

Tabby cats are gorgeous like teeny tigers .

But you do all know that Black Cats are whatever they choose to be , they just disguise themselves in panther .

Our panther boy has hints of oriental about him , our panther girl has faint chocolate stripes in some lights
They have the blue/green iridescence of a magpie wing (maybe their mum ate a magpie )

This one has just ripped the Christmas tablecloth in 2 places, pest!

One look at that little face and surely all is forgiven!

Gettingbysomehow · 25/12/2025 11:22

I have a non traditional tabby. She has all of the colours just lots of white too. She is 17 and a real darling. I also have an all black cat.

YABU, all cats are the best (I have to say that, I have a tabby and a tuxedo). Here they are, pretending to be friends:

Mine is adorable. He's very very cuddly and has a really loud purr that's easily activated.

He was really naughty as a baby though. Brought down and smashed a full length mirror and hid in the Christmas tree. He now gets into fights with the local tom. But he's very protective over his little brother (not related).

He's my first tabby and I love him dearly x

CalzoneOnLegs · 25/12/2025 13:09

@houseofisms they are beautiful especially the chonky one above ❤️

This is Amelia. She looks adorable but she is in fact part crocodile and hates absolutely everything and everyone. We love her very much.

All my best cats have been tabbies. Also excellent mousers, plus friendly and gorgeous and smart.

The gingers have been utter morons but friendly. One of them spent 20 minutes in the garden stalking a pear.

If anyone in London or surroundings has a tabby cat shaped hole, this one is currently looking for a home. I'm fostering for Celia Hammond's. She was abandoned on a high street with her kittens, which she looked after in a fly tipped pram for a couple of days until we were told about her and went to rescue the family. She was adopted for a few weeks, but has come back to us as the adopter found her too affectionate - always wanting to snuggle with him at night, which disturbed his sleep. Pm me for details.

'Stalking a pear' made me LOL.

Aww. I'm oop north but I hope this gorgeous girl finds a home - I am in the no such thing as a too friendly cat camp, and don't mind at all when they start climbing on my bed at 2am. It's heartbreaking that she was returned for such a reason.

What’s not to like about that?

'Stalking a pear' made me LOL.

The other one lost a fight with a dead mouse. Th tabby had killed it. Ginger tossed it about a bit, it landed on a windowsill and slid down it until if fell off and landed on the ginger's back. He lept a foot in the air in a panic and dash d to hide under the shed for an hour.

And the third sat outside the back door (and not in the little shelter with blankets we put out there while we were at th shops) until he had half an inch of snow on his head. Dipshit.

JWhipple · 25/12/2025 14:09

They're all so different though! I had a grey and white tuxedo boy, the happiest, bounciest most loving boy. A Tortie who was a gentle loving (but also would give you such a look at times... She was most expressive with her little face)
I weirdly always wanted a tabby, and have a torbie from a rescue now as she sounded that she'd match well with my current male cat in terms of temperament.
She's semi feral, won't let me stroke her (but happy to slow blink at me and sit nearby) absolutely besotted with my boy cat. The minute she wakes up she's bothering him and rubbing against him. He's given up fighting her. Even waving his paw at her and growling is seen as encouragement.

Aww beautiful babies!! YANBU OP, thank you for a lovely wholesome Christmas thread, and thank you everyone for sharing 🥰

Leavesandthings · 25/12/2025 14:27

Lovely cat pics!
My late cat was a stripey ginger, and I was so surprised one day that a friend refered to her as a tabby! But it turns out tabby means stripey rather than black and grey stripes.
You learn something new everyday!

TomatoSandwiches · 25/12/2025 14:31

Tabby cats in my area all seem very friendly, we had one when I was a teenager and ahe was quite spicy!

My favourite cats are black cats, especially girl cats, they are just such clever little loves and so pretty.

SecretWitch · 25/12/2025 14:33

These are the feral mixed tabbies I take care of✨✨✨
