@Retailrookie I agree. My little black panther has such a different temperament to the big orange tom doofus but is still very affectionate - in his way (and I have the scars to prove it) 🤭

DD is very allergic to cats so we can't have one

We used to have two cats before DD was born. One was black and one was ginger and both were adorable.

Thought I'd mumsnet a bit before the day kicks off, so glad I chose this thread (wanted something heartwarming). I grew up with a tabby female called Cinders and I've always loved tabbies. Sadly no cat of our own right now but I am loving the pictures, the names and the antics.

My Beast agrees. Tabby cats are marvellous.

Here’s our girl, Bambi. She’s 14 years old in April & only in the last year or so has she got less cranky lol. The only person she likes is ds.

The friendliest, most sociable cat I’ve ever known was a ginger Tom. Lived a few doors down. Always dropping in to see us.

He was called Jaws because when I first gave him biscuits he bit my finger. This cat was a feral who came to find me when his mum was killed by a car, he bought his 2 brothers to me for food and then he never left. Until he was himself knocked over.

He was an absolute legend.

I love them all - I have a ginger, a black, two ginger and whites and a tabby. The tabby is the favourite I'm not supposed to have, he's so big and cuddly and needy.

Kitten somersaults onto my lap, runs down my leg, chases her tail, zooms around room, fights her shadow, does full circuit of couch, bits my book, falls asleep on my lap.

^ those 30 seconds just made me change my mind to fully black cats.

This is Bob. Had to have an eye removed about 6 years ago and the other one about 3 years ago. He's amazing and we love him very much.

I've had black and white and Tabby. I have my Mums cat as Mum passed away a few years back. Objectively Tabby cats are in my opinion the most striking, big eyes and markings. Here's my Emily aka Moo 😍

My tabby boy is the softest gentlest lad. One eyed and half tailed, he's a rescue feral.
