My friend gets a cleaner in twice a week - 4 hours each time - and ends up spending £600 a month on the cleaner (in London)

About £200pcm (2.5hrs pw) and it makes all the difference.

We pay £22 per hour and get 2 hours every fortnight so £88 a month.

The one massive benefit is that my husband and I are really very untidy but having the cleaner forces us to do a massive tidy up every couple of weeks so it never gets too bad. We’ve had the same cleaner for over a decade and she’s lovely. We’re happy to keep working with her.

Your houses must be very dirty to need all this cleaning done! 20 minutes of thorough cleaning in a specific area of the house on top of general tidying/cleaning is more than enough per day. But I suppose it's your money and you do what you feel is best for you ...

My house is not very dirty, and it definitely takes more than 20 minutes to deep clean my bathrooms. Thanks everso for your permission to spend my money how I choose though.

3.5 hours a week. £60 a pop. I love her more than my own children when I come home to a spotless house. We both work full time and it saves my/our sanity not to spend all day on the weekend cleaning and doing laundry. When she takes holiday we have no issue getting on with it but certainly appreciate the personal time we get as result of employing her.

Why do you ask?
