You've got dozens here telling you otherwise. I didn't even watch Brookside back then and I know where it comes from. It was a big storyline at the time...massive viewing ratings and sparked much discussion and a catchphrase.

👍 I knew that and I didn't even watch Brookside.. apart from the lesbian stuff which my best friend was obsessed with - slight clue for me there.

I actually get that sulphate free bacon these days which is a bit more expensive but really delicious.

I was ill last year, really wanted a BLT. He was off out for a paper. He walks past Morrissons, goes to Heron and buys a Chicken and Bacon abomination. I still remember that dark day.

The reference is to a Brookside story line where the abused wife finally snapped after her husband sexually abused their younger daughter and killed him. She and her older daughter buried him under the patio. It was gripping and spawned a catch phrase. The serious side was highlighting the way the law treats women who kill their abuser.

It has become a theme on MN where women use black humour to suggest this is a suitable reaction to ‘minor’ infringements by non abusive husbands. Abusive = WA and LTB. Non abusive and making a light hearted thread = bury him under the patio.

Nothing to do with later cases of abusive men killing women.
