Anyone else being battered by this storm?

We are barely in the yellow warning, but this is much worse than previous amber or red storms. I've seen at least 8 local houses on fb with their roof or gable ends gone and quite a few commercial warehouse type properties destroyed. Lots of trees down blocking roads and some flooding. It's still wild outside and has been since lunchtime!

Is this very localised and/or has the met office failed badly here??

Yes! And we currently only have half a roof as loft extension underway! I'm lying awake listening to it flapping and hoping to while thing stays put till the morning. Forecast says should die down in next couple of hours 🤞

Bloodylovecheese · 15/11/2025 00:31

I'm lying in bed a bit scared. It's really noisy outside and I'm almost waiting for a big crash or something to break.

HotSteppa · 15/11/2025 00:33

We are in more or less the same place if the blue dot on your map is anything to go by. It's been grim all day.

TutTutTutSigh · 15/11/2025 00:35

I'm trying to get to sleep so may not reply till morning, unless the roof blows off 😵 hope it dies down soon.

Not battered, but loads of rain - which we still need to fill the reservoirs.

TheLeadbetterLife · 15/11/2025 00:38

It's the same one that came through Portugal yesterday I think? We have quite a bit of damage to deal with on our house in the aftermath.

MatchaMatchaMatcha · 15/11/2025 02:02

I was thinking its been a storm in a teacup, feeling very sorry now for those with such property damage!

zazazaaarmm · 15/11/2025 02:05

Not bad here in the NW. Windy and rainy as fuck but I've not heard of anything local.

gilesfaithbuffyangel · 15/11/2025 02:10

Lancashire and it’s not great. Neighbours have lost their entire fence and gate

Peridoteage · 15/11/2025 02:26

South east, we had amber warnings i think but its felt like overkill, it just rained heavily.

aluminium123 · 15/11/2025 02:29

North west is awful. Wheelie bins flying around the streets with such force that it sounds like loud thunder. Cables connected to roofs coming down etc.

reptilemad1985 · 15/11/2025 02:32

not heard much here in Edinburgh but went to put bins out and a box i had outside had blown away and a notice on my door had came off

Itbeginswith · 15/11/2025 03:18

In Cheshire and it has hit us hard. I’ve never known so many trees come down in a storm.

dailyconniptions · 15/11/2025 04:08

Abergavenny has been hit very hard. Also just heard the river has burst its banks in Monmouth and the high street is completely flooded.

garlictwist · 15/11/2025 04:51

Yorkshire here. It’s not been especially windy but so much rain. Sounds like it’s stopped now but it went on for hours and hours.

Fiftyandme · 15/11/2025 05:05

We’ve just had fairly heavy rain and a bit of wind. It looks awful in some places from what I’ve seen on the news

Keepingongoing · 15/11/2025 07:02

My roof is leaking! It’s dripping through a spotlight in the bathroom. I only noticed it around 9 pm but in retrospect it had probably started some time in the afternoon as I heard a drip once or twice but thought it was from the shower. I’m in S Yorkshire.

Heavy rain here but not that windy.

flapjackfairy · 15/11/2025 07:05

Staffordshire here and it has been horrendous Bins everywhere, trees and fences down all over. Not a pleasant day or night.

Blarn · 15/11/2025 07:12

Yes, Birmingham. Its been surprisingly bad. Although more damage was done in that storm before Christmas last year that brought down loads of trees, including over the trainline I get to work. Our windows aren't the best and it sounded like the wind was whistling through every single one, it was all directions!

Devilsmommy · 15/11/2025 07:19

@Blarn I saw that Stratford road had flooded. I used to live there😅 I'm not in Birmingham but right next door and it was horrendous here too

I have just ventured outside to find my heavy wooden garden bench has been blown from one end of the patio to the other and it looked like a war zone in general. No tiles off by the looks of it thankfully.

Shudacudawuda · 15/11/2025 08:42

Yes! Looks like we are in about the same location as you OP and it has been absolutely wild. Seems to have finally died down a bit now but there are trees down all over the place, lots of roads blocked and some flooding. The wind was powerful, so loud. Our dog wouldn't go out for her walk last night, made it to the end of the drive and started shaking, this is unheard of her walks are everything! But I think we were safer staying in to be honest.

takealettermsjones · 15/11/2025 08:43

I'm further north and there's a tree down on our street, and we lost our bins for a while! No damage to our house thankfully. I had to carry my daughter from school to the car because the wind literally knocked her off her feet.

TutTutTutSigh · 15/11/2025 08:46

Hope the damage isn't too bad this morning for you all. Our road is blocked by a tree but no roof damage that I can see yet.

Some pics off Facebook today-

Horrendous last night. Definitely worse than Amber, god help us when it’s a true Red
