My girl is having her kittens! First one is here squeaking and healthy!

Second is imminent.

I think she’ll have 4 🤞🏽🤞🏽

OP, thanks again for taking us on this kitten journey with you.
If not Scrump, which kitten will you be keeping?

Kittenwatch · 13/12/2025 21:24

@1reason We are keeping one of the black kits. He’s pure black except for the TINIEST white speck on the end of his tail.

My son picked him and has called him Tostada.

Ah, I’m going to be sad as well, when the kitties go home! Funny story, we rehomed the kittens we were presented with, and of course DS1 was sad. I explained that we couldn't keep them all, kittens are expensive to look after, we’ll just look after their Mummy. There was a thoughtful pause, then he commented, ‘I hope we can afford to keep our baby.’! He was 4 and DS2, the baby in question, about a month.

He changed his tune fairly soon and would happily have rehomed the baby. Hey ho.

I Iove how lateral children’s minds can be. Sweet little bean.

They are getting more beautiful by the day. I love Tostada’s little face!

@Pudmyboy I never realised you could see a thread gallery - would you mind telling me how to find it?

Under the original post you'll see thread gallery and it's currently at 54 photos. click on the first photo and you can just view any photos that have been uploaded. Includes everything that's been uploaded so as well as 40+ photos of kittens there's also an unpleasant newspaper article and some lambs (viewing on a tablet so it could be different on other media).

Pudmyboy · 14/12/2025 21:53

@Growlybear83 your question has been answered above but I would just add the detail of clicking the arrow to see the pictures:

Thanks so much. I usually use my phone for Mumsnet so didn’t realise this was possible. I’ve just looked at the little kitties again and my Wilfred is sitting next to me staring at them 😆

Look at my little flooferellas!

Stunning!
I will get myself registered as a cat fosterer, if I can. Sadly DH is allergic, so I’ll have to wait for him to pop his clogs or get fed up and leave me! 🤣

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 15/12/2025 21:13

Scrump looks like Phantom of the opera!

justthecat · 15/12/2025 21:15

oh My they are sooo cute, they’ve come on so much!

Kittenwatch · 15/12/2025 21:17

@justthecat they are actually jumping and pouncing now. I am obsessed.

Growlybear83 · 15/12/2025 21:34

Oh they’re proper little cats now! The markings on the little one on the right are gorgeous.

So gorgeous, thank you OP for sharing their story. If anyone here is on X I recommend following Malcolm the cat and Baby dog - it's quite a tale (and several tails!)

Davros · 15/12/2025 23:20

They are so sweet

The RSPCA and other such organisations are terrible for animal welfare, ironically. My DH's family who had a cat tried to adopt a dog via Dog's Trust and they said 'not suitable for cats', and then also said 'not suitable for kids', my DH was around 13 at the time. So they went to a family that they knew whose dog had just had puppies and they adopted a dog from them.

Sorry what, please can you provide evidence that the RSPCA and other organisations are terrible for animal welfare because that’s quite a bold statement? In what way are they terrible?

The RSPCA seem to be far more concerned with prosecuting animal abusers than actually taking care of and rehoming the animals they have removed from abusers. This makes them behave more like gatekeepers than animal shelters. It's similar to how GP receptionists can be. You ring up, you talk to the receptionist and if you're unlucky, the receptionist will do their level best to make sure you can't see a GP because your problem just isn't considered enough to warrant talking to the GP.

A: "Oh you want to adopt this bundle of joy? They don't like kids or other animals. And if you rent, you're not allowed anyway."

B: "But aren't you overrun with kittens and puppies?"

A: "I'm not telling you twice."
