My girl is having her kittens! First one is here squeaking and healthy!

Second is imminent.

I think she’ll have 4 🤞🏽🤞🏽

A kitten "likely may die", what else likely may happen @Nomakeupday ? Maybe the sky will fall in just to really ruin the OP's day!

Edited

Yes, some of the kittens may die, as is often the case. That is not at all far fetched. I'm happy to be called a 'PETA extremist', although I'm certainly not. I'd wonder why there are so many desperate to silence anyone that mentions any of the normal negatives of breeding. Maybe it is in their interest for poor breeding to be advertised. I'd certainly rather be labelled a 'PETA extremist' than an animal abuser. After all the main justificationon this thread for back yard breeding seems to be to create a stock for those that have been refused by rescue charities.

Morning floof!

What a lovely cat she is, with her perfect little pink schnozz. Glad everyone passed a peaceful night and the bébés are doing so well 😽

Purplebunnie · 15/11/2025 11:07

Thanks for the new photos, they are adorable

Puppylucky · 15/11/2025 11:11

Ok I take it back - Mum does look quite proud in these photos and definitely less shell shocked!

EverardDeTroyes · 15/11/2025 11:12

I can't get over how similar your mum cat looks to my boy who died 4 years ago now. Thanks for the updates and photos. Please keep them coming.

I’m not really one to ascribe human stuff to animals generally but she’s been so attentive to them.

She calls us to the pen, then goes off to the litter and to drink from her fountain whilst we watch. Then comes back and miaows until we bugger off 🤣

Regardless of emotions she’s certainly looking after them very diligently.

The photos are just lovely! Your cat mum is the absolute double of our family cat from when I was a child. We’re a dog family now (my husband is allergic), but I can’t help adoring cats and kittens.
I’m sorry you’ve had such a pile on from some quarters. Some people enjoy sucking the joy from the loveliest of posts.

We lost our beloved cat of 17 years early last year.

We weren’t planning to get another and then a friend’s neighbour was rehoming our beautiful queen and she looked so much like our old girl that we couldn’t resist.

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s so painful and we grow to love them so much ❤️

I’m surprised to hear that black and white cats are so overlooked. I know many people with much loved beautiful black and white moggies.

Our litter has two and they are stunning and very popular.

PIL are taking one and I’m so happy we will still have them in our family ❤️

They are much more active and scrappy now and very vocal!

More floof tomorrow.

You needn’t see her as a little furry human, but by God cats are excellent communicators.
She knows you are her provider, scout, and reliable helpmeet (and possibly an honorary cat too) and she’s leaning on you, almost asking in English, for childminding duties when she needs a quick break, as she would if she’d another female cat in the house. (Living with a separatist feminist feline nursery is a fascinating privilege!)

I admit Im a card-carrying crazy old cat lady, but the joy of having real communion with a cat who trusts you is a great gift.
(Of course, this may well be fiendish mind control, and would explain a lot of my wilder outbursts on MN😹)

Flannelfeet · 15/11/2025 12:33

Wonder how people expect to get kittens if they all have been spayed? 🤔

MistressoftheDarkSide · 15/11/2025 12:50

Gorgeous 😍

So glad they're doing well xxx

So sweet xx I hear kittens love climbing up curtains, like they race each other ❤

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 15/11/2025 17:33

They really do. Kitten proofing is an unexpectedly hard process!

EmpressaurusKitty · 15/11/2025 18:43

When I was fostering young kittens, I bought the cheapest curtains I could find & put all my usual ones away for safekeeping.

Kittenwatch · 16/11/2025 16:50

Sunday Floof!

They are getting very big and strong. They are very noisy when awake if mum isn’t in the nest. She’s been venturing a bit further afield (to the kitchen) so hopefully that means she feels happy they’re safe.

The black and white one is the biggest and naughtiest and I love him for it ❤️

What bliss! Such a cheering sight; I always grin like a madwoman.
