She's dying isn't she?

Mum discharged herself from hospital today.

Hiatus hernia. She can't eat or drink anything. Literally throws it straight back up.

Can't walk because her lower back is buggered.

UTI in blood. Been given antibiotics but nothing seems to be giving her a boost.

Sat in a sodding chair for 36 hours at A&E. Not slept for at least 48. Said she just wanted to go home.

I'm really scared 😭

Very sorry you are going through this, and your DMum.

Our friend’s husband has lung cancer and the GP and hospital are not treating him. It’s outrageous.

Dear OP, so sorry. You must all be in shock.
After such a battle for you all for anyone to even take your mum seriously.

I hope they will now treat your mum with the compassion and dignity she deserves. You’re a great daughter and she must be very proud of you.

I am so so sorry McSteamy.

My dad went into hospital 2 weeks ago. Not eating, in pain, lost a lot of weight. We knew something was terribly wrong.

Turns out we were right and he had peritonitis. Ended up with the choice of emergency surgery (which wouldn’t have done anything) or palliative care.

We and he opted for palliative. They were wonderful. He died surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him, in peace and out of pain listening to his favourite music and me telling him what a wonderful dad he was and how loved he was.

It’s absolutely awful and I wish I could give you a massive hug. Much love at an awful, lonely time. You aren’t alone xx

So sorry to read your update @McSteamyorMcdreamy . Try to take comfort from the fact you fought hard for her, and she’s now not in pain. When you can find your anger, complain about the terrible treatment, but for now push all that down and shower your mum with love. Thinking of you and all who love her xx
