I was behind a car yesterday that had 2 of them baby signs that read 'bitch' on board and 'pimp' on board........i know it could be a bit of a giggle for some if it were a couple sitting there, but it was a boy and girl in their car seats!

My ds asked why anyone would put up such a sign! (the bitch one)(he then asked what a pimp was).

Am i a snob?...lol

Eddas · 06/06/2008 10:39

if you're a snob then so am I

I really don't understand some people

OrmIrian · 06/06/2008 10:40

I don't like stickers in car windows. At all. But yes, those are particularly unpleasant.

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/06/2008 10:42

tbh, I never understood why anyone would want a 'baby on board' sticker of any description - surely all they are doing is creating a blind spot for the driver?

The 'bitch' and 'pimp' ones are particularly unpleasant.

Love2bake · 06/06/2008 10:44

YANBU

some people are just odd

Purlease · 06/06/2008 10:51

they are awful. Why are things like this even available to purchase?

oldnewmummy · 06/06/2008 10:53

I live in Singapore where the drivers are generally absolutely appalling.

I have a "Baby on BOard" sign in the hope that it will stop some a#$%hole driving too close.

Unfortunately has had no impact at all.

Purlease · 06/06/2008 10:59

why would a sign make any difference. If they are idiot drivers, they are idiot drivers.

They might just drive a bit closer so they can read what it says!

These signs were supposed to be for if car was involved in an accident so that emergency services would know to look for a child. Since people keeop them in car whether the child is present or not, their proper use is redundant.

thelittlestbadger · 06/06/2008 11:02

I was tempted by a Baby on Board sticker because I am a VERY bad driver and thought it might make people feel some sympathy when I realise I;m in the wrong lane at the last minute. BUT having said that I think anything other than a BoB sign is not naice

ClareVoiant · 06/06/2008 11:03

Yanbu regarding those, they do sound awful, especially if related to children. However, i often see a car with a sign that says 'ex husband in boot' and it still amuses me :-)

VictorianSqualor · 06/06/2008 11:06

DP had a 'Dad's Taxi' one, which lasted about a week. It's now hidden under the junk in the boot.

No YANBU.

Purlease · 06/06/2008 11:08

People will not give you sympathy because of a Baby On Board sign!

thelittlestbadger · 06/06/2008 11:10

Damn. guess I'd better practise parking then!

Ive twice had my car stolen by so-called 'young offenderss' and each time a baby seat was clearly in view. I dont think they really give a damn

hellsbells76 · 06/06/2008 11:24

yeah, my car got broken into the other week, they smashed the glass all over the baby seat

hellsbells76 · 06/06/2008 11:25

i don't have a baby on board sticker btw, they make me want to vom. 'look how fertile we are!' 'we've DONE IT we have!'

hermionegrangerat34 · 06/06/2008 11:27

The ones in the OP are definitely the worst I've ever heard of. But the one I see often that I can stand is a pink crown with 'Princess on Board'. Yuk, yuk, yuk.

Tortington · 06/06/2008 11:28

i take it fro granted that women are rubbish drivers ( generally)
no need for those signs at all someone once said its tantermount to saying "look i am fertile" as they were on room 101

theBOD · 06/06/2008 11:30

I hate baby on board signs and they are like a red rag to me and a lot of people.

chopchopbusybusy · 06/06/2008 11:31

'bitch' and 'pimp' on board. Never seen these before. Not sure about the young offender thing. Little gits tried to steal my car and lobbed the baby seat out into the middle of the road so they could all pile in.

pooka · 06/06/2008 11:35

I started a thread a couple of weeks ago about hideous car signs. After seeing one that said "my mum's better than your mum". And "VIP on board".

I just don't get it. Wonder whether I'm missing something, but I have no need or inclination for anyone to know anything about me when I'm driving - why should they care that I have children, that my other car is significantly more expensive than theirs, that I'm a bitch/pimp/believe in god (those fishes)/whatever.

nobodyputsBBinthecorner · 06/06/2008 12:05

the baby on board signs are a safty precaution actually... or thats there original intent, it is so that if you have a crash (god forbid) and are unconscious they A.know your child is there to be evacuated as a priority and B> know to look for a child incase they'd been thrown from the car.

But the novelty ones sort of invalidate the point, wlthought they dont offend me

MONKEYMONKEY · 06/06/2008 12:19

My ex DP has a silly football one in the back of his car which has a fan peeing on the oppositon teams shirt that really gets me.
A lady down the road has an "Ex hubby in boot" one and that did make me laugh tho'.

oldnewmummy · 06/06/2008 12:27

And ironically my child is adopted ........

Dolorescat · 06/06/2008 12:29

Hate BoB signs. They are smug.
